Brother SRM
First off, I'll tell a short little story as an introduction. I got a big ol' box at a flea market for 10 dollars this past summer. In it were mounds of old RT plastic marines, and some other old relics, like a thudd gun and a rapier cannon. I also managed to get a RT dreadnought there for 8 bucks, but that's not part of this story. A friend of mine also managed to nab a box of RT era Guard, where I got the plasma gun for this squad. I got the models and they were pretty beaten up. Glue all over the place, some awful modeling jobs, and, upon stripping them, many layers of paint. I tried to repose and clean up the models, but there are definitely some that I could not cut right to repose, as the arms were fused to the torsos, and some scars that I couldn't cover up. Also, I'm an edge highlighter, so this many round areas really confuses me! Anyway, without further ado, here they are - my RTB01 Crimson Fists! Kind of humbling to paint something just a little older than you are... The bolter boys: Rocket launcher and plasma gun: And Sergeant Rico, leading the bunch! I'm going to put transfers on the shoulders and rubble on the bases when I manage to get back home, but otherwise these models are done. Tell me what you think, and there are a few more pictures in my gallery!
Muskie
That's a RT era Ork Plasma gun, I know because I played orks, the IG and Stunties had a sprue with a platic heavy bolter and a plastic lascannon. Don't know if anyone but the Orks had a plastic plasma gun.

Don't know if anyone but the Orks had a plastic plasma gun. Well, it was being awkwardly held by an old plastic Guardsman, so I could be wrong! Everything from that era is lumpy and odd looking, so who knows...
Mortis Angeli
I like the style of the old mk6 I just wish they were bigger. I had about 30 of them and the mk1 land raider at one time but I traded them all for a new rhino. I remember when you could get 2 land raiders in one box. The plastic ones seem to be the easier ones to find. I would love to get my hands on a metal on that is reloading his bolter. The Ork and marine guns look very close, heck you could have a marine with a Shuriken catapults. So i dont think may people will notice the ork plasma gun. I would hold onto those RT era land raiders like a techpriest over some Adeptus Mechanicus relics.... I've got a few more metal RT guys back at home, including a landspeeder (missing a few parts) and an at ease marine with what looks like a bolt pistol. I have a metal meltagun figure with me that's waiting for some paint - I think it's actually one of the first models they released for marines, back when every figure had a name in the catalog. Glad you like em!

Glad you like em! Well I did trade them to a employee at gw in the Natick Ma. They had a very crappy coat of spray da green, So it was hard has heck to strip them. My land raider got traded to a collector so I got a good deal on that. Do you have any of the old flamers?

Yes, I do have an RT flamer or two lying around, It just didn't seem terribly practical to have a flamer and a rocket launcher in the same squad. I think I did cut one up for the plasma gunner though.
Eight
If having the Ork plasma gun is a problem, just say the gunner is using the weapons of his hated enemy upon themselves.

Brother SRM
Thanks! My Crimson Fists are yet to see battle, as I only just got Pedro a few days ago to lead them. However, as soon as these guys are out on the field I'll let you know how they do!
GI Joker
Wow, you got a great deal on all those guys. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the old beakies. My brother's army was made up almost exclusively of these RTB01 dudes and they were my first exposure to Warhammer lo those many years ago. I managed to grab a squad or so over the years but I still want more. But I digress, those are some good looking fists, SRM.On a side note, talking to SRM is like talking to a celebrity. A New Grounds celebrity. "Boy this future sure is dark" "dystopian, too." Briliant.
