wokkers
before anyone asks i am not doing Uriel Ventris :( my UM 4Co is very "roman-esque" with the mohawks etc etc. to this end i have made a roman army standard - or at least an approximation of one. here is the reference; http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/aquilifer.jpg and here is the wip; http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/CMD_SQUAD_20081105_001.jpg additionally there will be the apothecary; http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/CMD_SQUAD_20081105_003.jpg i was going for walking towards next casualty sort of thing with this - less combat oriented. and the company champ; http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/CMD_SQUAD_20081105_005.jpg and the two unmodified members of the squad; http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/CMD_SQUAD_20081105_004.jpg (that photo probably was not necessary :cuss ) i have used parts from the plastic command squad, the tyrannic war vets and the new sternguard models. comments and critisim please :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/ Share on other sites
taLLis
I think you have done really well with that standard will be great to see it painted. And that apothecary looks great like that, very cool pose Keep up the good work! - tal Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/#findComment-1760755 Share on other sites

The Finn
Are those a mix of Tyrannic Vets and Sternguard? Very good looking models so far. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/#findComment-1760859 Share on other sites
Varney
Wonderful models and standard, I was thinking of doing the same for my Company Banner. I would add a bit more flowing purity seals, though - possibly from the Ravenwing sprue, if you have one lying around. Did converting the Sternguard take a lot of cutting, or are the ams separate? Thunder_god
Nice conversions, especially the banner pole. May I ask whose resin bases you are using? Mithrilforge
I love the standard bearer...but the pole seems to be on too much of an angle :) otherwise its great stuff! wokkers
thanks for the feedback guys :D @The Finn: the basis for these guys was indeed the Sternguard and the Tyrannic War Vets. @Varnery: the arms on the apoth are both seperate on the original model. the champions right arm was seperate and i just sawed off his left "pointy" hand. similarly the standard bearers hand was a saw job - however, he also started out life with a bare head so that was clipped, drilled and replaced. @Thunder_God: the bases are from a local supplier called BacktoBase-ix. highly recommend them if you live in AU. not sure if they would work for OS buyers. specifically i have used the 25mm round ruin series bases on these guys. @mithrilforge: i was unable to redo the angle on the banner without a serious rebuild of the model - which would be a bit beyond my skills. it doesn't look too bad does it? Mithrilforge
Sorry, wasn't bagging it  it looks good...perhaps from a different angle it will look more dynamic, dont be too concerned  get some paint on it !! Gratan
I really like all of your ideas there. I particularly love the romanesque standard. However, I think its too long with to much gap between the icons on it. I think it needs to be shortened just a tad, but thats just me. awesome concept though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/#findComment-1761698 Share on other sites
Sons of Horus
these models are very nice :D :tu: they really captured the honour guard feel. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/#findComment-1761733 Share on other sites
Thunder_god
Wokkers, I'm familiar with them. They have an Ebay store that I have saved, and their overseas shipping is quite reasonable. I guess I'm going to make that order soon enough. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151362-ultra-4th-co-command/#findComment-1762376 Share on other sites
wokkers
long time no post. real life has been quite *real* lately. anyhoo, got some PIP pics of the commander that i thought i would share. there is not enough paint on the command squad yet to warrant a picture. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/DREAD_COMMAND_006.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/DREAD_COMMAND_007.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/wokkers/UM4C/DREAD_COMMAND_008.jpg also started a dread just to get my painting eye back in. no pics - its an AOBR dread with no mods (or paint). hendrik
that PF sternguard would look so good with a roman crest on his helmet like sicarius has! love that banner btw=) is there any reason why your marines don't have their powerpacks on?
