Karsekov
Hi guys, In a game that I played recently I had a couple interesting situations that both myself and my opponent weren't sure about. I was playing (1500point) Space Wolves against necrons and my Venerable dreadnought (priceless unit in this game) ran straight up the middle and was met head on and eventually assaulted by a necron lord with a destroyer body, the cc ignore invulnerable saves thingy (warscythe?) and a phylactery. Because it was the necron turn, the necron lord moved in and the results of the 1st turn of the combat were: 2 wounds caused to the necron lord and 1 crew stunned to the dread. Next turn of combat (my turn) the lord was killed and because of cc he was in base contact when he died. Because the Venerable dread was stunned he was unable to consolidate. 1. So, at the start of the next necron turn, when the lord rolls the "We'll be back" roll would the necron lord stand back up again and be in combat with the dread? 2. (Same game) After the ven dread had polished off the lord he had the chance to charge the monolith and swiftly took the chance. The result was the dread (178pts) had killed at least 350 or so points (don't know how much the lord was). Anyway, on the damage table there are modifiers for AP1 weapons etc. I was wondering if any CC weapons add modifiers to the damage table (apart from glancing hits). A dreadnought CCW would (you'd think, ok, maybe I'd think) be an AP1 weapon if nothing else. Similarly, melta guns are AP1 weapons, what about melta bombs? would they add +1 to the damage chart? In case you were wondering, it was a draw in the end. 6kp to 6kp. I was just lucky to recover after his 2nd turn shooting- had two full units in rhinos that both blew up, the guys inside both rhinos lost 3 men each to the resultant saves, both failed leadership tests (25% casualties) and both fell back 11 inches off the board (to only JUST reach the board edge) in one turn :o :tu: . Over 400pts gone, much to my opponents amusement and my... disappointment. But it was a fun game in the end. ;) Cheers. Karsekov
...so we have a consensus as to neither the meltabombs or CCW having modifiers oin the damage table. Any thoughts on question 1? Cheers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151460-damage-table/#findComment-1762671 Share on other sites
Tonoshi
Do you know if the Necron Lord had a Resurrection Orb? If I remember correctly, "We'll Be Back" isn't allowed from power weapons or instant-death effects. The Lord wouldn't be in combat when he gets up, so he could shoot or runaway from if he wanted to do so. I had a similar situation happen to me. bystrom
Q. If a damaged Necron Lord is unable to get back up without being within 1” of an enemy model is he considered destroyed, or does he go right into combat?A. A Necron Lord who gets up within 1" of an enemy model must be moved directly into combat with an enemy model within 1" of him (neither counts as charging). If the lord could roll for WBB (don't know the wargear that allows him to, as stated by Tonoshi, normally WBB isn't allowed from weapons that ignore armour or those that cause instant death, but he can take wargear that allows him to always roll.), and he wasn't destroyed, he would enter close combat again. SeattleDV8
The Necron FAQ answers the second part, the Lord would be locked in combat if within 1" of an enemy. Tonoshi
Good point. I forgot that was addressed in the Necron FAQ. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151460-damage-table/#findComment-1763988 Share on other sites
