HellChyld
yes I'm working on a Aegyptus Astartes chapter but not nearly on the scale as what I did in prior years. I have primary colors figured out to look like now I have some fluff written but neither title are really supported so either is workable. my question is which sounds better? the chapter symbol is a hawk with moon which I plan on getting up just as soon as possible. known for fast attacks and withdraws, lots of jump packs, land speeders and bikes. they are aggressors much like hawks. currently fleet based what happened to their homeworld is a secret they protect almost violently. so I ask you bretren, which is better .... Hunters or Hawks of Harmakhet? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/ Share on other sites
Asmodeus' Swordhand
hawks. just more snappy kind of. It sounds cool so far. my only regret is that I saw a wicked scheme by you in a sm painter thread, that looked just like this but better. I love the fluff though. Heru
Hawks + and incarnation of Horus / Heru... = :: Starts screaming profanities :: Yeah that is one of the issues* that will always set me off** (because Horus / Heru was a Falcon God - and Falcons are not Hawks). *= There is a short list of things that will make me "seem" irrationally angry very quickly, but there is always good version (at least to me) on why that is the case (another example is when people kill animals on film or to "make a point" - damn you to the seven hells Jamie Oliver). **= It's true everytime I watch an Egyptian documentary and some idiot gets it wrong and says "Hawk God" I start shouting at the TV and declare ten thousand curses upon their souls! Note: I'm not joking. Edit: It's interesting that you chose the Sphinx incarnation (Horus of the two Horizons) for a fast Chapter when the Harmakhet incarnation is more of a Guardian / Defender type (ie seeing as the Sphinx at Giza is a monument of Harmakhet). Personally considering that "Lions of Harmakhet" would have made more sense... HellChyld
some one else created the new badge I'm using and to use horus in one form or aother blantantly just had to be done. Falcons of Ra-Harakhte would work better for my works and is simular so I agree with your comments and have taken them into effect. I think I'll drop the Ra- and just use Falcons of Harakhte as Ra-Harakhte being a combined god of Horus and Ra, was the god of the sun and took it on its daily path across the sky. represented as a falcon or a falcon-headed man wearing the solar disk and the double crown. Sometimes he is pictured wearing the atef crown and the uraeus. will work mork with my cult of the emperor and doctrines of Harakhte the chapter follows much better. I need start putting up all my work on this chapter so support these thoughts more Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/#findComment-1763319 Share on other sites

But yeah Falcons of Harakhte is great. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/#findComment-1764285 Share on other sites

HellChyld
after some debate among freinds I needed to change the colors to be more vibrant to 9 foot tall power armored egyptians so I did the color theme below and after thinking over the name The Falcons of Harakhte are finally ready to move on to the next step Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/#findComment-1776189 Share on other sites

BLACK BLΠFLY
hi Neph I would be interested in seeing a sample army list for 1850 points. I am doing something similar albeit with a different theme for the chapter origins. 0b <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/#findComment-1776383 Share on other sites

HellChyld
hi Neph I would be interested in seeing a sample army list for 1850 points. I am doing something similar albeit with a different theme for the chapter origins. 0b :P army list will be forth coming as the army is still being built up from scratch and all I have is starter marines at the moment Definately a Blue Nile kind of guy. Look real good Nephren-ka. Soooo,...what the back-drop of the Chapter? Severus6 Background is coming I'm writing it as fast as I can and trying not to let it turn into the aegyptus astartes again.............. great scheme, but the purity seals are bright green. bright green purity seals are the best I could think of at the time. they may end up something else or maybe not still not sure. and some quick blurbs about their homeworld with lots more to come at first glance the Sinai System is dead. 4 desert death worlds and the gas giant Sinai orbit twin suns at the system's core. it is on Sinai that the Falcons of Harakhte built their chapter fortress. Sinai appears to be a gas giant but due to aged atmosphere processoring generators of pryamid design have converted sinai into a paradise world of lush rivers and seas surounding plains and platues. called lands of ra by the tribes people of the other 4 worlds here Ra's sons take you to be reborn. Brother Argent
You know, I turned up here after the whole Aegyptus Astartes time, but I have always been interested in them. I love Egypt and I don't mind the Space Marines so it was always an interesting idea. I personally think that your first colour scheme was better (in this topic) but, its your marines... Anyway, I look forward to seeing how you go with this one and I might just go look at the Aegyptus Astartes stuff again... :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151541-beginning-of-an-astartes-chapter/#findComment-1778232 Share on other sites
Barret
Sinai appears to be a gas giant but due to aged atmosphere processoring generators of pryamid design have converted sinai into a paradise world of lush rivers and seas surounding plains and platues. I'm not sure I understand this. The planet looks, from orbit, to be a gas giant, yes? But if one goes beneath the cloud cover, it's a terrestrial world? Asmodeus' Swordhand
paradise is always a great place for recruiting marines  cool idea but... it actually sounds like a fun place live so far. I'm not sure I understand this. The planet looks, from orbit, to be a gas giant, yes? But if one goes beneath the cloud cover, it's a terrestrial world? yes except from the deadly, thick upper atmosphere the world is much like a planet wide nile valley. its why failed recruits dream about it and die quickly after returning to one of the 4 recruiting worlds. its also the recruits who help the recruiting by telling their stories of Sinai so they seem like a dream world the sons of Ra (emperor) live , protect and respond from. paradise is always a great place for recruiting marines  cool idea but... it actually sounds like a fun place live so far. recruitment goes on the four death worlds in the system. failed recruits are returned to the world of recruitment unless a more fitting postion can be found. but without the oolitic kidney life on Sinai wouldn't last more then 10 years do to the toxins from the upper atmoshpere which is why recruits even after returning home die long before the rest of their kin.
