GW can photoshop pictures,

I fail to see how photoshopping is either shameful or "cheap." It's not like they're claiming that their photos are unmanipulated, are they?

It's a decent picture manip you got there, though. The background still feels a bit plain though. Perhaps adding a texture to break up the green would help.

its a tad obvious, just look at the shadow shading on the legs and you can spot the blend a mile off, as for GW doing it, they have been maniupliating images for a very very long time, I dont mind so much provided they dont do it to images they are claiming are hand painted, that would just be wrong.

With regards to that, I was speaking to one of the tech-artists at GDUK this year, and I asked whether they re-touched the models, to which he said occasionally, depending on the circumstances. He was showing me the Chariot of Chaos at the time, and showed me how they dulled the metal to make it more 'box friendly' etc, but he was also saying that for the Dwarf Miners Box set, he had to re-touch almost every single aspect of the model, for reasons he failed to mention. I think it's acceptable for box covers, they have a product to sell, but if it's a photo that is used as standard in WD, on the webby etc, then it become unacceptable. Anyway, what's the point? we can visit Nottingham and see the models for ourselves.

The errors in the Dark Angel codex make me chuckle everytime I see them :)

Care to explain?

On page 70 there's a large spread with a picture of a massed Dark Angel army. On the right side of the page near the crease, there's a dreadnoght armed with a lascannon and a power fist. Right below the power fist is a floating chaplain head, shoulder pad, and backpack, which is obscuring the plasma pistol being held by the whole chaplain infront of the dread.

Using photoshop doesn't exactly require skill.

Depends on what you do with it. Pretty much anyone can crop a picture, but you should check out some of the work people do on conceptart.org using photoshop. It is kinda like saying 'painting on a canvas doesn't require skill'. But I digress.
