Akamu
After lurking for some time, I have decided to make my first post a picture of my first Space Marine painted. He's mostly finished, except for some touching up and basing. I'm thinking of doing s renegade chapter ala Soul Drinkers. We'll see. I have not even come up with a good name for these guys yet. This chaplain model will end up representing my chapter master. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Faster200/Warhammer%2040K/DSC06123.jpg The shiny toe on his left foot is some paint that has flaked off. Gonna have to fix that. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Faster200/Warhammer%2040K/DSC06126.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Faster200/Warhammer%2040K/DSC06127.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Faster200/Warhammer%2040K/DSC06128.jpg This one is of the space marines I have in progress. Only a hundred more to go! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b169/Faster200/Warhammer%2040K/DSC06125.jpg These photos were shot with an old Sony DSC-F828 8megapixel camera. I am still floored at how good it works. With this stuff, sometimes I wish it didn't work so well. You can see all my mistakes! C&C welcome. Cheers! Akamu
The Librarian is a bit daunting, I'll admit! There is so much stuff on him. Keys, locks, chains, seals. and then all the cool stuff on his staff and the book. Gonna go nice and slow on him. I have some decal paper at work and am thinking of doing a banner, printed right on the banner in the back. I'd be printing in on an iGen3 Digital press at work, I just hope the transfer doesn't melt in the machine! Cheers! Disistablishmentarianism
Very clean painting you have there, and very bright blues :P. About the chipping on the chaplain, did you undercoat with chaos black by hand? Because if you did, I find spraying it on has much more 'schtick' and doesn't have the tendency to chip off. Oh, and drilling out barrels makes a good model great, if you do it right that is (some of mine have off-centered barrels :D) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151655-new-to-sm-my-first-model/#findComment-1765213 Share on other sites
