JEFF4i
What do you guys think? I know he isn't really fluffy, but made as per my wife's instructions, who loves the Salamanders. She partially thinks they are pretty, and partially likes the thought of really big guns melting things. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff178/JEFF4i017/Mini2.jpg
JEFF4i
To clarify, this was my first commander, I've painted many since then. ;)
Bloodstone
Rather than color pencil-ing your banner, you shouldve printed it out on card paper, bended it a bit to give it a curve wavey look. and then stick to the pole. So it looks nicer. Paints are a tad thick. And the eyes should have been left unpainted methinks. Its better to paint the head a skin tone color and then wash it with Ogryn flesh and highlight with pale skintone and leave the eyesockets as a darkened shade. Looks a lot better than painting it white, messing it, and having the face look like the commander's eyes are popping out after seeing something odiously terrible. JEFF4i
Thanks Blood! I hadn't even thought of that for the eyes. The reason the banner is the way it is, is that I actually am all out of ink. :D Only just recently replaced it, so I had to make due.
Captain Mick
Maybe abit thick paint but i still really like it. Way i like painting flesh is Dwarf Flesh > Devlan Mud > Highlight Dwarf flesh again very easy and effective ;).
Kuchinawa
Looked good for a first cmdr. Mine was terrible. The eyes are a little...well he seems interested in something, but great job nontheless.
JEFF4i
His expression says to me, "Your painting me like this???" Thanks for the comments guys, and a few tips I'll definately try more often. Nearly all my commanders have helmets, except my Space Wolves. The Emperor's Champion
Is his skin yellow??? I mean I can understand flesh with normal eyes because jet black with red eyes was unknown til now, but why he looks like a Simpsons character is beyond me. Other than that it looks good. Then again, I think Lisa would make a killer Sister.
