I toned down the cloak with a midnight blue wash, but I think it looked better before. Quite pleased with the face though, and the armour has come out better than I expected. Any comments/advice would be appreciated. I know it needs a lot of cleaning up, but would say he's 60% there as far as base coat is concerned. The nub on the arm has been clipped off as I intended to arm him with the Terminator assault cannon from the DA veteran sprue, but dont know if this would make him look ridiculous. Other hand will be a Terminator chain fist I reckon, but not sure as yet.

I love this old miniature and used it myself as my take on Belial. It looks like you've made a great start on the figure but I would suggest added a darker lining to the armour plates to help break up the separate panels - for instance the panel on the exposed thigh gets obscured easily at the moment. As for the purple cloth, I agree that the first colour looked better as the second colour appears to blend in too well with the green of the scabbard and eagle motif. I do like the face as it stands out better than mine.

I'm not sure about the Assualt Cannon, but the chain fist could work. You would need to do some work on the left hand to make it fit. I've posted a picture of my Belial for an idea - the right arm is the Storm Bolter from the DA sprue.

I hope this helps? I can't wait to see more work on this.

Thanks for the comments! I'm going to re-highlight the robe and have decided against the assault cannon. I think it might make him look a bit too fussy, and on a character model like this the devil is in the details so I wouldnt want to lose any by 'over-arming'. Its a good lesson from the Magneus Calgar model, he has so much going on that anything more than the 'bolter fists' (if thats what they're called LOL) would be too much. thanks for the tips everyone!

Heres what I did this weekend. Swapped his sword for the power fist from the DA veteran sprue (which took some doing!) and finally got his storm bolter attached

next stage is tidying up the weapons then maybe I can start on his banner and basing!

Heres the latest. I've painted the power fist silver (still needs some extreme highlights) and am currently working on the base. Next step will be the banner, which I'm going to design from scratch.
