That's quite nice! I really like the markings on the right knee pad. A nice dusky tone <_<

Yes here is some linkage to a topic and my photobucket thing, I only set them both up about an hour ago to get some advice, so if you have any I'd appreciate it :D heheh! There's a slighty Japanese flavour to them.

The links you posted aren't working. From what I can tell, you've got a good scheme & feel to your army going. If you can get the links working, I would still love to see your army.

Oh yeah I've just tried the links and I get nothing too, I'll try and sort it out! I'm not very techno...

Haha, no army I'm afraid! I stopped the project after a squad, a Dread and a Razorback because I wanted something more... Imperial... But I realize I just hadn't made enough effort to make them more Imperial, so I've started them again recently after buying a load of gear :)

I've found that buying extra bits is inspiring. "Ohhh... How can I use this?" That's partially how my version of He'Stan came to be. I'll be looking forward to seeing the start of your army once you get your links fixed.

Yes I know what you mean, the only problem is, I find I get a brain freeze because there's too much stuff to choose from! I have to sit down and work out what i'm going to use for what for ages before i do anything :tu:

I got the linky working, i'm not very techno so i can't get the photobucket one to work for some reason! Anyway, I just had a go at "Crusadifying" my Dread last night and adding mud etc so i'll stick 'em up on the topic link B)

How's Vulkan going? any colour yet?

No, I haven't started painting yet. I most likely won't get any time for that until Tuesday or Wednesday as those are my days off. I want to make sure that I completely happy with the look of him before I apply any paint. I've also been putting some modeling work into my Sternguard Veteran Squad that he's going to join. I'll post some more pictures when I get some paint on him though. I want to paint him along side his Sternguard Squad so that I finish all the models at the same time. But I am going to give He'Stan (Fearghus Anyon) some extra attention though.

I was thinking about filing down the shield on his chest plate & replacing it with a Crux Terminatus. I saw it done on another conversion I think it looked pretty good. Other than that I think I'm satisfied with the look of He'Stan.

The only thing i can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH this has helped me with my conversion of him.

Though i have one question was there a specific model you used as a base or was it just a normal marine and one hell of alot of kit bashing? Either way thank you.

And as for your model AWESOME! When i saw him i was a lot :Troops:

I'll post more details on the build if you want when I've got more time.

You know..you could have just said something else...Like....

"Jack, don't build him yet, I think you should wait until (holiday after birthday)" eg: Christmas then he'd ask why, and you'd say, "because theres going to be this GW sale on all bitz"

Quick, change your answer

Here's some images of Fearghus Anyon with some paint. Keep in mind he's still WIP, but I'd love to hear your feedback.

How do you paint your salamanders?

I don't actually paint Salamanders. My Army is an Imperial Fist successor called the Priory of Dorn. Their armor is a military green with the single yellow shoulder inset & gold trim. (Priory of Dorn Color Scheme)

This is how they're supposed to look:

The green paint I did on my "Counts As" He'Stan came out too dark. I think I did too many layers of the green. I usually have one of my finished miniatures on the table as reference but I was feeling over confident. And well, look where that got me...

If you'd like to know how I paint my green I'd be happy to let you in on how I do it. I think it would make a nice green for Salamanders. It may be too dark though.

Thanks but no thanks i already have a sceme, i was wondering what you way was because i would like to find a way that i really like.

Thanks! He's actually not shiny at all. I assume you're referring to the images that I posted here in the WIP thread. It was actually the lighting. The pictures I posted in the Hall of Honor thread I have for him are a little better, although the lighting in my kitchen does make his head look a little shiny.
