blood_raven_240
That's one sweet tutorial. I'll scavenge the necessary bits from some Internet Bits Supplier, and then, when I finally get my hands on AoBR, I know exactly what I'm doing to my Dreadnought :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151982-modelling-easy-dreadnought-tutorials-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-1942749 Share on other sites
amc1k
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/608/dsc00911k.jpg made mine by using a khrone berserk torso, a random and nicelooking head, something from a chaos rhino decoration and the round thing above the head was a SM bike antenna - what do you think? its still WIP! final pictures comming soon. cathar the great
Looks good! Though if you want it to be a Chaos Dread, it need more spikes! I like your use of the antenna around the head! Lestat
Now thats a great idea! I too purchased a couple of AoBR dreadnoughts and wanted to convert one into a cheap and chearfull Iron-clad. I was working along the same lines as yourself, but was stumped for ideas when it came to filling the lower half of the sarcophagus. For the head, I'm using the head from a Warmachine Vanguard mercenary light Warjack. I've also aquired some Necron gauss rods which will be used (somehow) in the seismic hammer. Right, back to the workbench! Ekkanus
I was looking for something to do with my dread, and now i've found it! Cheer's Cathar! Out of interest, has anyone put any robed helms on their dreads? Does it look daft? cathar the great
I was looking for something to do with my dread, and now i've found it! Cheer's Cathar! Out of interest, has anyone put any robed helms on their dreads? Does it look daft? Ekkanus In my opinion, robed and/or unhelmeted heads look a bit silly on a Dread. Remember that the "head" is actually just part of the visual sensor equipment of the dread. Ekkanus
Cheers Cathar! Think i've got a couple of spare Chaos Marine heads and some WHFB Chaos heads kicking about, i'll have a nosy and see what I can come up with. Ogrebane
Thanks for the tip. Nice article. I used this to build my ven dred. I will post a pic when I finish painting it. Semnos
Does anyone have a tutorial on repositioning the legs and/or arms? I'm looking to have my dreads take on a more dynamic pose. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151982-modelling-easy-dreadnought-tutorials-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-2029277 Share on other sites
cathar the great
@Ogrebane: Looking forward to your pictures. @Semnos: No tutorial, but it's fairly easy. For the arms, just glue pieces of sprue or other bitz between the arm and socket, and file/cut them into the angle you want (Get what I'm saying?) Legs are also easy, just carefully cut and reposition. Semnos
Thanks Cathar. I think I know what you're talking about. If you have any how to photos, that'd be great. I have 4 Dread's I'm working on next after I finish True-Scaling both my Chaos and Astartes armies. (In short, I'll post the pictures of my finished Dreads sometime before 2018...) However, I want them to be eye-popping in their poses. Thanks for the help. Sorry took me so long to reply. I was away from the computer for almost a week. Shadow Captain Corveus
I was really quite impressed with this tutorial. It's a really easy way of making a boring old dreadnought into a really fancy looking Venerable Dreadnought. That's exactly what I did yesterday to give my AoBR Dreadnought a new lease of life! Thanks :D And now for my picture: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/151982-modelling-easy-dreadnought-tutorials-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-2532482 Share on other sites
