YourMumRang
I'm sure this has been asked but I never seem to get anyhting useful on any forum search function anywhere. Simply, now that Psychic Powers can be used inside of vehicles, can my Brother-Captain cast Sanctuary whilst in a Land Raider and create a large no-go area for Deep Striking Daemons? Tauren
Dude, your mum rang... you show up everywhere I go and play all the armies I am working to play... darn you! But I believe the answer is correct, although that smarmy smile you may get/give if you are being affected by/producing the effect is gonna drive someone nuts... Just saying... Gentlemanloser
Yes you can. But do this, and the Daemon player will never face you again. 3" Measured from the hull of your LR for the AoE, that they can't target thorugh, or move/DS into, is literally an instant win for you. Kill points, you can just hide in the bubble and snipe away. Objectives, just park a LR on each and every Objective you can get to and bubble up. WooT. Boring games. YourMumRang
Well I'm sure that onl having one aint so bad. If Daemons complain about being subject to nasty tricks from DAEMONHUNTERS they need a brain transplant ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152000-sanctuary-in-a-land-raider/#findComment-1769410 Share on other sites
Tauren
At 60 points per inquisitor with sanctuary... meh... Besides its not like those daemon players have much going for them anyways against us... all they got is invulnerable saves and we mow through those with psycannons,. Plus they come in piece bypiece to be mowed down... which is pathetic. Gentlemanloser
It's not a nasty trick. There is literally *nothing* they can do versus it, as the only non LoS shooting attacks they have can't hurt a LR in any fashion. How large is a LR? Imagine a 9-12" Bubble that you can't assault or shoot into/through, that conceals your opponents army. And they can all shoot back. Besides its not like those daemon players have much going for them anyways against us... all they got is invulnerable saves and we mow through those with psycannons,. Plus they come in piece bypiece to be mowed down... which is pathetic. First it's something like 36 points for an inquisitor with sanctuary (give or take a few points, but it's less than 60). Second, daemons have a armor all over the place, either that or ways to get around it (such as FnP for example). The Sanctuary is a nasty menthod for sure, oh you're holding that objective? well I'll just ram you with my tank and lets see how that works... ;) Nothing can touch it. They don't come in piece by piece, first turn half their army (rounding up) will come in, then after that it's normal reserves, going by that logic you'll have half the units that were in reserve come in 2nd turn, then 2/3rds of the next half on turn 3 and so on. The other thing is the soulgrinder, who's to say there isn't a scatter? S10 hurts Also you'll rarely encounter this in a tournament setting, both daemons and DH's are rare in a tournament and the likelyhood of both facing is slim, so that leaves the majority to pick-up games over anything, if this is the case I just bring my other armies to play, either that or play someone else. Tauren
Yep... to be honest I think the answer is to stop the "anti-daemon" emphasis of the army, or give the army a rule that makes the opponents count as daemons... simple as that. And you are correct on the power, was thinking about the lord not the normal guy... Something to the effect that "If a DH's army is facing of against an army that they normally wouldn't fight aka daemons (salamanders, imperial guard, what have you) they would count the HQ of that army (select at the start of the game which is the preceeding general, determined by the DH army) as a corrupted/possesed manifestation that needs to be death with, all the normal rules apply against this HQ that would normally apply against daemons. This rule only works on the rest of the army on a 4+ for each unit at the beginning of the game (note this is to reflect that some squads might not have been effected by the generals oratory skills and haven't been tainted themselves). Note vehicles aren't effected. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152000-sanctuary-in-a-land-raider/#findComment-1769469 Share on other sites
Tauren
Actually the 4+ is a great idea... This needs to be whisked away to the inquisition project... Wolf89
Actually the 4+ is a great idea... This needs to be whisked away to the inquisition project... Yes but if they did this then Sanctuary would be too powerful, they'd have to nurf it extremely (maybe you can only use the power once per game? or something like that). I can't help but thinking 4+ is still too powerful, even a 5+ would be helpful for a DH army. Either way this would definitely get me back into playing DH's more often and in a competitive way. Tauren
Agreed, although not really, can't you just pie-plate the inquisitor with a tank? Besides the psychic power already has extreme drawbacks... Can't move, can't shoot... etc... Well lets say it's something that normally can't shoot at it (daemon) and the pie plate is placed on a unit nearby and scatters onto him then yes... but it won't happen often at all... the bubble itself will mean you'd have to be fairly further away to target another unit, then with the shot, scatter, BS subtraction, you're talking about box cars for the most part in the right direction in a pretty narrow margin of 30-60 degrees Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152000-sanctuary-in-a-land-raider/#findComment-1769516 Share on other sites
