stinkenheim
Most memorable moment, a couple of years a go, before cities of death and apocolypse were resleased i was fighting against my friends imperial guard (actually mine because he doesnt own any guard), 6000pts a side and 2 force organisation charts each, great fun ;) He had 3 baneblades and a butt load of leman russ and basilisks, i had a a few vehicles (about 4) and a butt load of foot sloggers. About turn three his basilisk took out my land raider crusader that was carrying bloodclaws and a wolf priest, lost a few to the explosion and then his baneblade targeted my now exposed bloodclaws leaving my wolf priest and bloodclaw with meltagun left. He then used a vindicare and sniped my wolf priest, ouch... any way next turn, last man standing test, i rolled a 3, cool bloodclaw can do something, so off he trots towards the baneblade, levels his meltagun and rolls a 6 to hit, 11 to penetrate the armour, and a 6 on the damage chart, one structure point gone, rolled angain and another 6, now only one structure point left... getting a bit excited now i rolled again... a 5, yes baneblade gone, but no, the critical damage table needed to be rolled on.... a 1, if he could pass a ld test he could save a structure point, he didn't so i rolled again, another 1.... curses, but again he failed, 'come on' i thought, yes a 6... baneblade goes KABLAMO!!!! and the bloodclaw emerged from the explosion unharmed.... I went on to win the game and the bloodclaw survived taking out a leman russ aswell, sweet!!! He became a grey hunter soon after and is still reliving his moment of glory whenever there is a lull in the battle, much to the annoyance of the other grey hunters in his pack. Wena
Here goes: Play testing the 5th Ed. 'Ard Boys list against the only other player I knew might give me grief. (I ended up not being able to do this 'Ard Boys and he went on to win the Semi but skipped Boston). He was playing a wicked DE list and we rolled Dawn of War with the 2 objectives. He got first turn (even with re-roll :tu: ). Fearing his Disrupters and Dark Lances I thought I would try a new strategy ... For the first time ever, I will keep everything I have in reserve, let him wander the board and pick him off piece meal... wow - what a mistake... I have never rolled sooo many 2's and 3's while trying to get stuff out of reserve... on turn 2 I got a vindi, LRC w/ BC's and a 6 man GH troop out - they survived but barely (LRC was immobile)... few Gh's were dead... Turn 3 had about half of my army in and by turn 4 all but my Venerable HQ Dread... His witches and Succubi and all that crazy DE stuff he had worked me hard and he felt no remorse ;) All said and done it was still close to a tie - but my scouts were unable to contest his objective (it was a single Moral check away and I rolled a 9) and he contested my objective even with WGBL w/Termie WG, Ven Dred and a single GH on it... I learned my lesson that game - never, ever use reserves unless your army is specifically built for it (cept scouts of course)... I hoping to get a rematch soon - make him pay for that day... Wena P.S Best Win: Teams Apocalypse Tournament - Taking out a Warhound Titan with Rune Priest and Bodyguard Termies in close combat – Chain Fist – rolled 6 for Structural Damage and Re-roll, then another 6 for same and lastly a 5 to destroy it – man was the other guy mad! We won that that day – but that was the hardest match of the Tournament – Warhound Titan, Baneblade and Stormblade plus 10 Sentinals and Last Chancers – all painted and built really well! Byrne
Here is two of my win/defeats. I won a game (3rd ed, old eldar codex,) I had a squad of 4 wolf guard terminators with, 2 assault cannons and 2 with stormbolters. My unit fires on a unit of two warwalkers, the assault cannons miss, but my storm bolters hit, and penetrate and kill the warwalkers, 4hits, 4 6´s to glance and 4, ´6´s on the damage list... it ws just crazy. my loss, (even if I won the game) was when I played a dark angels in 2n ed, I have a terminator with an assault cannon who shoot at a character in my opponents army. when the hits are rolled and the wounds were to be allocated, it was around 50 wounds! and his character survived with his terminator armour and displacement field.... it was just sick!
