The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
i have come to a dilema while trying to collect transports for my wolf grand company im trying to keep my number of rhinos and drop pods equal to an extent. so i bought the razorback/rhino model and im not entirely sure which is better. sure the rhino allows you to fully transport a 10 man squad of grey hunters or blood claws while the razorback can only do 6. however the razorback adds some direly needed heavy weapons to the wolves. can yall please help me out and let me know what are some strong points my fellow wolves have seen in these two transports and help me come to a conclusion? Dark Bjoern
Personally i´m using two 6-men GH packs with Razorbacks and one 9-men BC pack with Rhino. Like you said the Rhino can transport more manpower. With the 5th Ed troop choises had become more vital, but i like the additional firepower (specially with TLAC). My list has enough firepower to decimate my opponents units that can treat my infantry before i charge him so i don´t really need much troops. At the end what transort you will need depends on game style. Guest WG Vrox
Check out the thread titled 750 Modular lists. I believe there are a few Rhino lists in there. If I take a RB, it will be HB w/ PMSB on it, as the PMSB is a defensive weapon you can move 6 and fire both weapons. Of course 6 GHs inside, w/ 1PG and 1PF no need to go crazy outfitting them, they are to hold a home/close objective and usually ends up being a speed bump, but one that dishes out what it receives. Only time to put them out in front is in masses, mixed in with Tanks giving them cover. For me other than the HB config, it's just to spendy and rarely recoops its cost as it gets pop'd pretty quickly. I know people take a RB with a LC for their Long Fangs for extra firepower and cover if needed < lol after it gets poped. They say it usually survives longer in the very back and makes the enemy choose between the two targets being LF or RB. Grey Mage
Razorbacks can be taken by 10 man squads... use them as rolling cover and fire support. Works pretty well. It can also get a depleted squad the heck out of dodge... and with a little work you can make a plug for the hole where the turret goes... and use it as a rhino whenever you want. Vassakov
Aye, the betrayed Space Wolf is right, you can make a Rhino out of the Razorback kit. I keep all mine modular and see how it goes. Personally, I take 6 Man GH squads in Razors, 8+ in Pods or Rhinos and Blood Claws in LRC's, just for the look of horror on my opponents face! JCarter
Just don't glue the top doors or the plate with the turret hole on the top. Paint them and install the ones you wish to use for rhino or R-back. works fine. It can also get a depleted squad the heck out of dodge... and with a little work you can make a plug for the hole where the turret goes... and use it as a rhino whenever you want. I'm with you. You can actually take the RB for a large squad, just as long as you don't put the Marines inside it's totally good! It's excellent for creeping up somebody's flank. Most of the times when the vehicle takes a hit it will get immobilized and in that case you can still use the guns to give your units some much needed fire support. And it will give your opponent another headache since he will have to choose what to kill; the squad or the vehicle. They're quite cheap anyway. And if for any reason you need a Rhino, just switch the hatches. My Rhino's slash Razorbacks have the option to switch the rooftops. Just don't glue it in place, it will stay on anyway, thanks to gravity. That, and the Razorback kit doesn't cost that more if you see what goodies are inside which you'll have to miss if you buy a Rhino kit. So, even the Captain who doesn't want to use any RB's is wise to buy the RB kit over the Rhino kit. You don't use them both in the same list right? for the moment yes however later on no. as i have only 1 drop and one rhino/razorback im gonna have to. however as i get more of each im gonna switch them out. i dont think people really understand me when i say im building a grand company. drop pods, rhinos, 26 tanks, thunderhawks, and a bfg space wolf fleet all in due time though.
