-oni-
After what feels like forever I finally have the first squad of my Genesis Chapter army finished, well... 99.9% finished anyway. I decided to put some text on the sergeants arm shield and all the purity seals. Here it is, comments and the likes welcome. To find out how I painted them hop on over to my blog. Terminatorinhell
very nice reds, i like them but i would guess painting powerfists silver may help a bit with breaking up the monotony Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1773752 Share on other sites
Vaaish
perhaps change the casement color of the powerfists to white to break up the reds and balance out the head. It needs something to keep it from being so monochromatic. It really needs the barrels drilled on the storm bolters, helps immensely. The Angelus Sanctus
Vaaish had the same thought i had about changing the Powerfist and possibly even the SB casing to white as that will give the white a sense of equalness across the mini and as others have mentioned to break up some of the red. Otherwise that be some excellent painting there :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1773824 Share on other sites

Rob_Loken
I like them a lot. Personally I like the fists as they are, but that is me. The one thing you could do is paint the lenses of the sensors. But other than that I'm realling liking that red and those whites. -oni-
Thanks everyone. The way I understand the Genesis Chapter to be is almost a mirror contrast of the Ultramarines. Where the Ultramarines are blue Genesis is red, where the Ultramarines are red Genesis is blue with exception of the eyes. However everything else such as bolter casings, shoulder guard trim, chest eagles etc. are exactly the same. As for the target acquisition system lenses... I overlooked those, shame on me for forgetting, but thank you for reminding me. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1774161 Share on other sites
Chaplian Silkor
Someone sad this before me, but I recommend to drill out the barrels of the bolters. It will give a 'cooler' effect. ;) For the rest your models are excellent. Keep it up ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1774179 Share on other sites

grim0thy
I really like the application of paint on your models. It looks really smooth and has a lovely overall coverage - however I agree with what's been said - especially with the powerfists - they need something to break them up. Same goes for the dreadie. However, I love the paint. :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1813734 Share on other sites
Stefoserpent
I advise you to add " hazardous lines " pattern at the power fists. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152290-project-genesis-update-feb-17/#findComment-1813742 Share on other sites
Apocalyp$e
You HAVE to drill out the barrels... Such beautiful painting needs it's bolters drilled. I haven't seen many genesis chapters... I think games workshop JUST released some Genesis chapter shoulderpads. daggitkiller
Really nice job. Seems like you're getting the process down so you can start giving us more pictures, right? My two cents is not to go too crazy on the power fists. You have a nice clean paint job and maybe could break it up with some carefully done squiggle text like the Ultramarines have. You could do this on the little shoulder shields and power fists and maybe throw in a green wax purity seal or two. Good start to this army, I liked them enough to stop lurking and join up! :P Just saw you do your purity seals in blue, so amend above advice accordingly... deathbat of doomy doom
Your armour paint job is awesome! Very table top ready! With the quality of your paint job I would drill the barrels of the guns($20 dremel + $5 drill bit = pricless).
