Daemons took the #1 slot for US ‘Ard Boyz, and the 9th rank as well. At the Baltimore GT They took 3rd & 4th. Nice to see daemons take 2 slots in the top ten for both events. There’s still a lot of Internet banter that daemons can’t compete in a tourney setting due to their random elements. It's good to see that the players are still proving that to be wrong.

If anyone can find the lists they were using it would be much appreciated.

I think often the cry that they can't be used in tournaments is because of the various elements of chance they have involved in their use (which admittedly all armies in fact 40k as a whole is based on.) However if your willing to take a risk and things go as you like daemons can win like any other army and because of how they deploy it can be helpful in 5th ed missions ^_^

Great to hear about the chaos gods favoring those few who took battle in Baltimore! Too bad they were busy when I needed them, but still a ranking isn't bad for mono-god. ^_^

I would have to assume the list that won looked something like at least 2 heralds of slaanesh on chariots, possibly a greater daemon, 3 soulgrinders, lots of troops, just lots and lots at high numbers and that's probably it...

The winning list was a fateweaver bloodcrusher list with bloodletters and horror flamer back up. there was some grubling about the bases of the blood crushers being small(the old juggy bases), and he set up an hq and two troop choices in DOW.(does DOW overide daemon rules or vice versa) judges ruled he could set up one hq and two troops. the second place player was a DE player. he was te one crying foul. but in ard boys there is no crying not even for eldar.
Cheating wins the 'Ard Boyz, so much for proving Daemons are a viable army <_<

Under contention, but it is verified that the Daemons player KNEW it was a bad ruling and still followed said bad ruling, which is certainly saying something to me.

And the fact that he based his Bloodcrushers on smaller bases and had bigger bases on hand. He asked his opponent's permission to let him use smaller bases when he knew they were supposed to be on bigger ones to give him an advantage by browbeating some guy. That and lying about the judge ruling in his favor (no judge recalled making that ruling? BS).

Daemons have performed well in other tourneys, so we can always look to them as proof that it's a solid army.

I thought that the winning list had 24 bloodcrushers and no horrors, but I cant be exact anymore...

But ya, definately wrong bases for the crushers (wrong models too, new bloodletters on fantasy horses for an all plastic model, but they at least looked cool enough) and deploying demons via DOW rules when codex deployment > rulebook deployment. Makes me mad and sad at/for the judges, even though the head judge was a nice guy there is a lot of browbeating a judge into making a wrong ruling, and then him having to enforce it.

Which, if you have no upgrades on your 'crushers, gives you 1540 points left for troops and HQ, I think he'd be alright.

Well not much can withstand 2 squads of 12 bloodcrushers... at least that's how I'm assuming he did it, or 3 squads of 8... fluffier that way, but not as survivable...

Technically if he used the horses, then he'd use the bases the horses came on, being the cavalry bases, this would pose an amazing advantage...

I may just have to stop building my brets and use their horses to put bloodletters on...

Doesn't really matter if it's not as survivable, max squad size is 8 :P you're mono-khorne, you should know what ;)

Sorry for my lack of smilies, but it was sarcastic, as in he was already cheating, now that I re-read it, I can see where my poor health is affecting my ability to write humor.
