Captain Malachi
I was looking through my codex the other day and noticed that fiends have 5(!) attacks base, with S5 and I5, however, I cannot stand the models, so does anyone have any ideas for alternative models to represent them? They don't need to be particularly Slaaneshi in feel, I just want them to fit the rules themselves, I was thinking some kind of large wolf to represent the high strength and toughness, with huge claws and teeth to represent the high attacks and rending, thoughts? Seahawk
I use the plastic Chaos Spawn I got in the marine army box last year. I'll never use them in my marine army, and I don't want to drop another $40-50 for two models, so... OwlandMoonGuy
I take it that you don't like the classic ones either? Link to Image. I always had a liking for the ones with the studded leather leggings. -OMG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152529-alternative-fiends/#findComment-1777069 Share on other sites
Morte
Plastic dark elf cold ones from WFB :P Dark elves make for fairly apt conversions as well; a headswap and you've got some armored daemonettes! Captain Malachi
@Seahawk: Definately an idea to think about. @OMG: Not a huge fan of the older models either I'm afraid. @Morte: I like that idea actually, but would they not work better as seekers? (Which I also happen to be looking for ideas for :) ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152529-alternative-fiends/#findComment-1777627 Share on other sites
==Me==
Chaso Spawn of Daemonic Mounts from Fantasy (boobworm) could work well as Fiends. I like the idea of a Daemonette on a Cold One too. For Seekers I'm considering combining Daemonettes and Goblin Spiders to make a spider-centaur type thing. Captain Malachi
Whilst I like the idea of the boobworm, it's a bit expensive for a unit of fiends, and I plan to use one as the basis of a prince conversion anyway. What would you all think of combining brettonian knight of the realm horses (I just happen to have some spare) with the upper body of a daemonette for seekers, a centaur type conversion? Morte
Now that would be something to see indeed! It's perfect because the plastic horse torsos end at the head, which means a little bit of greenstuffing will do nicely. Although, might I suggest using wood elf horses or something. Knights of the Realm horses tend to have a lot of barding on them, and I suspect you're going for the "naked" look. Or, for the truly adventurous, cold one centaurs! Now that would be awesome. Captain Malachi
Or, for the truly adventurous, cold one centaurs! Now that would be awesome. Only problem with the cold ones, is they are very big and tough, not sensual and agile like most slaaneshi models, I'm not hugely bothered by that, but I would like to keep the seekers relatively slaaneshi, the wood elf horses are an idea I'll look in to though. I don't think I've found the perfect model for my fiends yet, so if anyone else has any ideas feel free to share. Edit- I just looked at the wood elf horses on the GW site, and they are perfect for what I had in mind.
