ZsaZsaRasputin
I was trying to get used to watercolours again after ages of not using them, so I figured I'd make a quick sketch of my thunder hammer marine conversion (Elsewhere on the site) This is what I ended up with... I'd appreciate any tips from those better versed with watercolours. (I know the sketch isn't great- that was due to it's speed etc) http://fc94.deviantart.com/fs39/i/2008/327/d/a/Marine_conversion_watercolour_by_DanBoldy.jpg Cheers, DaN Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152924-watercolours-annoying-p/ Share on other sites
Mal
aside from the sketch itself, the actual colour work is quite impressive. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/152924-watercolours-annoying-p/#findComment-1782044 Share on other sites
Cannibalizer
The head is, well, colossal compared to the torso and limbs, but despite that it displays good use of color. JetfireUK
I find watercolours very difficult to use so anyone who can produce something like this impresses me. I think that you've tackled the subject well (I'm ignoring the accuracy of your sketch) and the depth and shadow is well depicted with the watercolours. The only thing that looks slightly off is the light hitting the nearest foot to the viewer - it should be in shadow if the light source is behind the Marine's head. Well done. Angelfire
Proportions off, but it's accurate. The color work, highlight/shading, etc is very brilliant though. Excellent watercolor!
