Ok, this is a little bit off topic.... but does anyone else get the deepseated need to answer questions like this:

Question: "Dark Eldar.... How do you kill them?"

Answer: "With a gun".

But they will eventually get to my lines or some unit holding an objective so i want to know what best to give things to stop this and not have my unit fall to bits with the first enemy charge.

Ive versed one dark eldar player multple times (and acouple of others) and all ican say is you have to play the game 3 turns ahead in your head because that is exactly what they are doing cause for them one bad turn will lose them the game, if you mess up there battle plan they go south for the winter..

de are as brutal as they come and they are the oldest army around (maybe except for sw's)

watch out for the raider/witch/archon rush

archon with 2+ inv you do the math

Last time i versed an archon with 2++ save i killed him with 6 shots (granted they were SS) but he failed atleast 2 and then after 1 fail the shadow field goes bye bye. I think the first thing to do is to take out their ravagers, yes?

@ Mal: its ok, you are always a good poster from what i have seen.

What do you mean they were SS?

I'd take out their raiders and ravagers first, yes.

Another trick that I've seen Dark Eldar players use is throwing Raiders into lanes of fire and turning them sidewise, debarking the troops behind it. The gun mounted on a Raider is no joke either. When you destroy the Raider (and you will), your enemy has now clogged your lane of fire.

Your average Dark Eldar player doesn't care if you blow up his transports. They are expendable for the sole purpose of limiting how much you can shoot him to bits.

Also, you will always, always, always lose the mobility battle with Dark Eldar. For those of you who havn't fought them, imagine a regular Eldar army, with the strengths and weaknesses amplified.

DE players who have good tac's will have a heap of the transport things (i forgot what their called :teehee:)

take alot of tac squads with missile launchers and plasmas (for extra support)

u can spilt them into cobat squads to take the transports out

i once vs a DE player in a 750 battle and bet him in the 2 turn because i had HB and ML but that was in the last update of the codex.

i had first turn and blew up every transport he had then he foot slogged with his witchs which killed in the second turn and he had a troop squad sitting up the back

all in all make them foot slog as earliy as u can

Master Gladious

 the sign of officalness
