Updated SW codex release date!

We all know that Imperial Guard has been confirmed to have an April-May release date of '09. Harry confirms that Space Wolves will be the next 40k release, and that IG and SW will only be 2 of 4 40k releases, which will consist of 3 codexes and 1 supplement (rumored to be Planetstrike).

 

Captain Ventris, who I do not know, though others seem to take him at his word, claims that Space Wolves will be released June-July of '09, which would be in line with what Harry has already said.

 

I've got my salt shaker ready, but I've known Harry to be very dependable in the past, and what Captain Ventris says seems to line up very well with the rest of the conversation.

 

Conclusion? Exciting times are ahead for the wolf-brothers. Not just for the release, but we are much closer to the time when more and clearer rumors seem to reach us concerning upcoming releases as well. The next six months should be very exciting anticapatory months!

The manager in one of my local GW stores says that our codex will be released at Games Day UK '09 but there will be a WD write up prior to that...

Sounds promising, the dark eldar being released soon, then IG, then necrons, then SW's... I could see as early as July, but it doesn't seem plausible until later 09 such as Sep, Oct... but I guess we'll see.

Sounds interesting, I wouldn't mind a WD release as long as they guarantee the actual codex a few months later... maybe the 8$ for a WD might be worth it afterall... maybe, just maybe I'll have to renew my subscription...

The Warseer rumors point to the DE not being released until late next year, unless I REALLY missed something big. We know IG is coming in July and Harry says SWs are the next 40k release after IG. That is good enough for me.

Guard are early-ish next year. Certainly before the summer, if my source is right.

 

We know we have Orks in Jan, Lizardmen in Feb. We also know a Daemons Wave II is on it's way which puts Guard about April / May time. The possibility of a WD write up by June and a full release in October with GD spangles is certainly plausible.
