puzzlesanswer
Hey all! when the luna wolves/sons of horus finally went choas, how many grand companies were there? i ask cause the I wanna use the well roundedness of the sons of choas as a basis for my DIY warband. another question: i called my warbade the "Gemini Conglomerate" kind of a mouth full i know lol the whole basis for them is 2 blood brothers were chosen amongst the cthonian ranks to become spacemarines for the luna wolves, they both survived and risen to the ranks of captains (similar to the 'either and or") with in the same company, but once they were on terra, they both didn't like the way things were headed for the legion and thus broke off with their respective companies. Once in the eye of terror and teamed up to make themselves alittle stronger and as time wore on have swelled their ranks by absorbing other small warbands and renegades who are allowed to keep thier original colours of their warbands but MUST bear the new warbands mark apon their shoulderpad and swear fealty to the dual captains. bascially think red corsairs but with a more objective based approach as they will aid their members in fullfilling their goals as well as completing thier mission for an unknown artifact, kind of a "you scratch my back i promise i won't stab yours" feel lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153505-black-legion-qs/ Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
This should help you The Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus were considered a large Space Marine Legion and had at least 25 Companies at one point during the Great Crusade. While no maximum headcount for the legion has been given, when the Luna Wolves 10th Company was deployed in entirety during the Whisperhead action on Sixty-Three-Nineteen it numbered approximately 600 marines.3 If 25 companies existed with the same strength, the Legion at one point could have numbered around 15,000 marines. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Legion IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153505-black-legion-qs/#findComment-1789158 Share on other sites

chillin
I'm not sure what you're asking ? How else would they # them but in chronological order ?? Just b/c 2 of the characters from the HH books were from the 4th and the 10th that doesn't mean that there wasn't a 5,6,7,8, and 9th grand Co., their Capt.'s just weren't major characters in the book is all. puzzlesanswer
ok i wasn't sure whether or not they did have an order as the only ones you heard about were the 10th and forth ect. so to have a captain from the 7th company is cool or what ever company number (with in reason) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153505-black-legion-qs/#findComment-1791992 Share on other sites

puzzlesanswer
awesome! like i said in my earlier post about the red corsairs-esque organisation, but one thing that has been kinda bothering me is: can blood twins be recruited into the astartes? ie brothers from the same mother? Griffin
yes they can be - although often one of the brothers dies in the course of the training. In the one Horus Heresy book the one brother grieves for his twin lost in battle.
