muzzyman1981 Posted November 29, 2008 Share Posted November 29, 2008 Well as far as I know the Great Wolf unfortunately doesn't not get Orbital Bombardment but that doesn't stop you from asking your opponent since he IS a Chapter Master....just don't expect to use it in tourneys. The reason being, as those....people....who update the Data Files for AB would say, it's not in the Space Wolf Codex. He is a wolf lord, and he doesnt need a starship to kill the foes before him, he can do it himself. The whole thing of him leading the entire Chapter of the Space Wolves does not make him the Chapter Master? He may not hold that exact title but he is in all respects a Chapter Master AND a Company Captain (as Excalibur said). However he does not have Orbital Bombardment due to the fact it just isn't in the Codex, for good or ill for the Wolves that is how it is. The woes of having such an old Codex. Grey Mage Posted November 29, 2008 Share Posted November 29, 2008 Only Logain Grimnar leads the entire chapter muzzy.... a normal wolf lord only leads a grandcompany..... wich depending on who you talk to is as few as 120 or as large as 800 space wolves. The chapter itself is made up of atleast 12 of these, as well as companys that are out on great hunts, or have been out of contact for several centuries.... any of whom could rejoin the chapter relatively quickly. muzzyman1981 Posted November 29, 2008 Share Posted November 29, 2008 Well I was just explaining why I believe that even though he doesn't carry the title "Chapter Master" he has the same station, or ranking if you will, as those with such a title which is why him having the Orbital Bombardment is debatable. However, the Great Wolf is such a mofo that he would destroy anything in his path and the OB would not be needed. Seeing Logan Grimnar rushing at you with the Axe of Morkai surrounded by his bodyguard made up of the most hardcore and savage warriors would make almost any foe just decide to turn their weapons on themselves rather than face their fury. However fluff wise Logan Grimnar is a Captain of a Great Company and the Chapter Master. This isn't unprecedented either as the Salamanders Chapter Master is also Captain of the First Company.
