Brother Prometheus
Hi all, Long time no post. I stopped the hobby a long time ago and i'm pretty much starting to get the need to paint an army again. (onoz!) So the Codex : Chaos deamons caught my eye and I think i'll settle with that army. So my question Would a Herald of slaanesh in a chariot teamed up with a Fiend of slaanesh be viable on the battlefield ? The Chiariotted Herald has some insane stats but he looses his IC status. Can a wise use of the fiend and Soporific Musk overwin that status loss ? If someone has some experience with it, feel free to let us know Bro P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153629-herald-of-slaanesh/ Share on other sites
Captain Malachi
Well, what's in the rest of your army? A single fiend will just die, best use for a chariot is a second wave assault, send your standard units in first, then send the chariot in after to deliver the killing blow. Brother Prometheus
Well, what's in the rest of your army? At the moment the army is pretty much non-existend. But after some thread lurking i've seen few people actually chartiotted their herald. Just wanted to know how people actually felt about one. it's role would be to harras together with a Fiend some stranded units while the mainbulk of the force get's their thing on. As I don't really know how 5th ed and Codex : chaos deamons plays, I like to here from people who have gotten experience with them. (side note : I used to play Dark Eldar & Ultramarines) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153629-herald-of-slaanesh/#findComment-1790765 Share on other sites
Captain Malachi
As I said, a single fiend will just die, everyone knows they are lethal, which they are, believe me, but everyone kills them early, so you need a few to survive the trip to the enemy. Chariots can be good for hunting down stagglers, but seekers and blood hounds are just as good but often cheaper. ==Me==
A chariot of Slaanesh is super cheap and dishes out plenty of pain. As Captain Malachi said, Fiends work best in larger units (I run 3-4 and they do fine). A pair of naked chariots and some Fiends will really hurt something and with their speed they can reach out and touch something. Best of all, they aren't nearly as fragile as the rest of the Slaaneshi units so you won't lose them as quickly. eyescrossed
i am planning on charioting my herald of tzeentch as the change over to jetbike status makes the herald stupid useful for objective grab and as a mobile firebase Heralds can't take objectives. Unless you meant they could contest to them... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153629-herald-of-slaanesh/#findComment-1793007 Share on other sites
