Fureal
I've been inspired by the Blanche-itsu style of painting to revisit one of my first figures and give him a more 'artistic' paintjob. The original was very flat looking and dull with basic colours that made him look dark and 2 dimensional. I've increased the colour depth on the cloak and highlighted the armour, and think the second image does the Chapter Master more justice. Would appreciate any feedback though... does the new scheme look too bright for a Dark Angel? Shortsonfire79
You're right, the one on the left does kind of look 2D..funny.. The new one looks great! The purple highlights really stand out. The green highlights make his face look more..round too =-D You should paint like that more =-D Like..whole army status!...And that seems to be around the right shade for DA Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153714-da-chapter-master-a-new-style/#findComment-1791817 Share on other sites
Alys Dwr
looking good! The brighter shades makes hime stand out a lot more. I think an extra highlight may be needed on the most raised areas of the cloak and especially on the red of the cloak. And it might be noce if the purity seal on the cloak matched the ones on his legs, just to make it stand out a bit more. other than working on a few of the details this is very nice indeed, the highlighting on the green is spot on.
