It's generally a nice practice to at least own a codex of each army and play them once in a while even with proxies, then you get to know your opponent a lot better and know his/her weaknesses early on and can exploit them.

You can learn about the enemy by researching the Essclesiarchy approved Codices for each of them. Beyond that the enemy is best studied via vivisection. Should the enemy fail to survive long enough for that, autopsy if your best option. Both of which are best conducted with a frostblade.

All this talk of Thousand Sons, Eldar, and other things of neither a Celestial or Lupin nature,,, it confuses me.

Am I the only pure wolves (meaning that I possess no other armies) player left?

It's also fun to be the bad guy once in a while. :D

I agree with my brother. The friend and coworker that gave me the Ahriman is a devout Chaos player. I dable in the dark side to try and get a better fell of how things work. Couple that with what I know about him and the way he generally plays, I develop tactics to better exploit my advantages and his weaknesses. Dark Eldar were just indulgence for me. They were never very successful as when I played them I was up against throngs of IG or Chaos. I was a n00b then and getting trounced repeatedly, I never got into the intricacies of gameplay. I was basically a non learning food source. I tried different tactics but gave up on them after one good beating. I wasn't as adept as to give a tactic or three a chance or two before giving up on them. I'm a more "seasoned" gamer these days. The SW's just appeal to me. The current dabbling in the Wolf themed Chaos company is again, creative indulgence.

Tsun Tzu, Patton, Grant - they all studied their enemy.

Hell, all you single guys should read cosmopolitan magazine to know your female enemy for that matter! lol

(just so that we're all clear, I'm just messing, I don't care what armies your play, so long as the wolves don't get dusty) Tsun Tzu, Patton, and Grant never fought on their enemy's side, they just studied them.

I tried the read Cosmo approach. I actually have every Cosmo from February 1996 to February 2007. While it did help in many ways, the biggest lesson I learned is that the articles are all on 3 year cycles, women are insecure about everything, and most men can't listen and can barely make a woman climax once.
