Commissar Molotov
Mol,The only thing I see is that I think the bandolier would look better flipped so that the percussion caps on the bolts were on top, rather than hanging out the bottom. Otherwise, looks good. -T. I was trying to remain faithful to your artwork - I couldn't tell which way round you'd put them. I'm back in Leicester but when I go back to Peterborough I'll rip it off and put it the other way round. El-Diablo
Good start to Thane there, nice open posture. Have you had any thoughts on what axe your going to use? Heru
that's what I told him to do. :) also suggest breaking out the greenstuff and some plastic rod bitz. I always liked that Sketch, I'm excited to see it "come to like". Hopefully He'll do the "chaplain" as well. :) "chaplain" Chell http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/Cpt_Tiberius/Chell2_hi-WORK-LOREZ.jpg -T. Ah the old Relictor Chaplain whose B/W image doubles as a Castigator Veteran heh. :) involving a Word Bearers warband... What is it with you and Word Bearers all the time! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153902-relictors-blog/page/2/#findComment-1796438 Share on other sites

Cpt_Tiberius
I envisioned the axe being the one from the Chaos Lord sprue: axe bit But, Mol is free to use a different axe altogether if he wants... -T. Commissar Molotov
That's actually the axe bit I am planning on using, though the Thane conversion's taken a back seat whilst I've had the chance to paint. Here's a starting point, though Midian's since furnished me with a very good tutorial on painting grey so these might end up being re-worked: http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Relictors-0006.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Relictors-0007.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Relictors-0008.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153902-relictors-blog/page/2/#findComment-1803062 Share on other sites

Commissar Molotov
A further update on Thane: http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Jeriko-0002.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Jeriko-0003.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z121/mnesimache/BlackCompany/Jeriko-0004.jpg This picture includes a Catachan arm simply to showcase the pose I envisage. In actuality I'd probably use a banner arm from the Command Squad. Asmodeus' Swordhand
Left arm is spot on :P I'm still not sure about those legs though... He's just too epic for such a simple pair of legs. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153902-relictors-blog/page/2/#findComment-1862359 Share on other sites
Dark Disciple
Its always good to see the Relictors getting some love. Some very nice models I see lurking in those squads. Good job Commissar! El-Diablo
I really like that purity seal wrap on the left arm - very evocative of the Black Templar approach to attaching weapons to the arms, except Thane can drop the Daemon Weapon if it gets a little too hungry. As for the legs not being 'epic' enough, I think when you get some more equipment and assorted bling on there it should be fine. My one concern is your planned pose for the arm. Any other time and it would work a treat, but if your going by the art and giving him a bolt pistol then it's going to look seriously under balanced with the axe in the pose it's in. Commissar Molotov
Hrm... I was going to give him a bolt pistol, actually. I'm not sure about the balance; I could just go closer to the art and have his pistol raised in the air...? As for the wrap (which Tiberius refers to sardonically as "the purity bandage") my idea was that it meant the corruption of the axe couldn't travel up his arm to his hearts.
