If you come to the Inquisition forum asking if it's worth playing an Inquisition army, what answer can you possibly expect but, "Absolutely!" ;)

What selections you take are going to be based on what faction you want to be your base army: DH or WH. The general consensus is that the WH is a somewhat more fleshed-out, well-rounded codex, and therefore easier to build off of than the DH. Take a canoness, 2-3 units of Sisters of Battle for Troops, 1-2 Exorcists for Heavy Support, and you're on you way. There isn't anything truly distinguishing about the DH heavy support choices, and outside of them, about the only things worth using out of the DH codex that are unique/interesting to it are the Grey Knights. The allying rules make it easy to get plenty of Grey Knight goodness into any Imperial army list, WH included.

If land raiders and/or dreadnoughts are something you must have, then DH is the way to go, but because these units -- along with the requisite Grey Knights you'll probably be taking -- are considerably more expensive than Sisters of Battle, you'll have fewer points left over to bring in those WH units you like. However, make the game big enough -- at leat 1500 pts -- and you can get yourself at least 1, more if you're frugal, Sisters units pretty easily. I myself always make room for a fully-kitted out Seraphim unit in most of my GK lists, and that unit costs every bit as much as Grey Knights.

Oke, well, I want in my list some grey knight terminators at least, but no grey knights as troops. Correct me if wrong, but I than better take the witch hunters codex and take some deamonhunters untis as allies. If I'm right I can take up to one HQ choice and 1 elite choice from the other list.

In that case I could take a Grey knight grand master with a grey knight terminator retinue and if i want so I also can take another unit of grey knight terminators.

The rest of the army I use untis from the witch hunters list. Am I right or not? What are the most seen combinations with these list by the way?

You've got the allying rules down just fine.

As for what's "most seen" ... don't know. You're building a WH list with 1-2 GKT units allied in. Pretty much anything that would work in a normal WH list would work here, too.

Not sure about other players, but the the combination I generally use is a jump canoness, seraphim unit, 2 sister troops (large foot squads or mech), 2 exorcists, and a retributor squad. Added to this are as many PAGK units as I can fit into the list. I know that GKT models are just sublime, but I find troop choices of PAGK compliment the combination much better. PAGK scoot and shoot better than terminators, and are still quite strong in assault with the added numbers in their squads. Having at least 4 strong scoring units, to hold objectives is never a bad thing either.

As a side note, I never take my GM anymore as I find a tooled canoness does the job better, and survives longer. I think taking a terminator heavy list is far more challenging, than one that includes more PAGK. Mind you, such a terminator heavy list always looks fantastic, so if you get it to work that is great
