Rossco
I reckon something a bit bigger, he looks like he's going for it so why not a Lictor or something ? I think it'd have more drama ! SterlingTheFaceless
Another option would be to go to a local non Games Workshop hobby shop. They'll have 40k, of course, but you'll probably be able to find other model ranges and get a single animal in a blister pack for very cheap. just a thought, providing that your up for using something non GW. Pig Of Sparta
Whatever works, works... unfortunately I don't have a local model shop, so I'm a little stuck with the Internet. (slaps forehead) Wait a minute, I've got the whole world at my finger tips..... I'll see what I can find B) thanks for the idea Sterling. Alys Dwr
The old metal lictor would look fantastic as an oponent for this sargeant. Pig Of Sparta
Verbal Update: I greenstuffed the gap in the neck this morning (begged some off my brother, nods at Corpse King ^_^) so I'll probably undercoat him tomorrow. As much as I love the old Lictor mini Alys, I'm on a pretty tight budget just now, so I'm having to try and use what I can get hold of cheaply ;) Thanks for the idea though. Miniman
Ever think of making him look like he's about to back hand a trainee for doing somthing stupid? like he put his helmet on back-to-front? Or are you wanting this a serious kind of diorama? Pig Of Sparta
To be honest, at this stage it could go either way, the idea of him smacking a newbie around does have a certain appeal to it ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801516 Share on other sites
Mazer Rackham
How about clipping off his BP magazine and having an empty on the ground behind him - it intensifies the situation, he's had to go to the knife because it's all he's got left - then (as you probably can do this as I am conversion clumsy) an Eldar ranger or something, his weapon broken on the ground and reaching for a pistol or knife... Â The face says "desperate" to me...so.. Â MR. Pig Of Sparta
I really like the sound of this.... it warrants some serious thought and bitz box raking.... thanks Mazer  I'll hopefully post a few different mock-ups later this week ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801539 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
Was trawling through my bits box, and suddenly this came to me. Not particularly impressive I know, but still I think it could work. I'm not writing off all other ideas just now, but I thought I'd see what you think of this.....  (shouted) "....such is the fate of all who turn from the Epmeror's light!" http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/e-2.jpg  or  http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/d-2.jpg  I think the first one looks better, but that's just me :)  c&c very welcome  James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801611 Share on other sites
The Nephilim
So I guess my first question is, why is the Sarge attacking an IG Trooper? Â Next thought, your Sarge needs a more dynamic pose with his legs if you like the first shot more. Pig Of Sparta
If I went with this, the imperial eagles would be removed from all the guardsman's kit, to make him a renegade  Like I said, this was kinda a flash of inspiration, nothing more, and isn't quite as dramatic as it could be. I'll keep trying though. Â James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801737 Share on other sites
BOBMAKENZIE
You need to move the guardsman forward alittle I think. Closer to him. Right now it looks like hes about to bury the sword in the poor guys head but what you want more of is an exceution style decapitation right? wiplash
i think that it would be much better if you made it look like he is protecting the trooper so either the trooper is behind him or to the side of him with another enemy coming head-on where is that guardsman from anyway? looks like a good diorama peice imo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801974 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
I got him in the old Cadian Command Squad box set a few years back, he was the 6th man in the box, so the medic had a friend I guess. Â @Wiplash: Having him protect the guardsman could be cool, I'd just need to figure out what from. Â @Bobmackenzie: thanks bob, yeah it would be an execution style decapitation so you're right, he needs to be a bit closer. wiplash
i know it might not be exactly what you are looking for but personally i think the best thing for this would be: the scout protecting the guardsman with some FW flying rippers flying towards him that would be sweet Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1801996 Share on other sites

Pig Of Sparta
Wish I could edit photos like that, I could add backdrops to some of my mini's :( Those look very pretty snazzy, and I see what you mean about it looking cool having the sarge protecting the guardsman. Thanks for doing those mate. Unfourtunately FW mini's are way out of my budget just now, but who knows, maybe i future I can revisit this idea Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/153986-scout-sarge-versus-new-photos/page/2/#findComment-1802069 Share on other sites
