AngryJohnny
Greeting Brothers! I've been looking around for some Combi-Flamers, but didn't find anything that I really liked. So I made my own variant. Let me know what you think! You will need: 1. Sharp X-Acto Knife 2. Combi-Melta from Commander Box 3. Flamer from Tactical Squad Box 4. Glue 5. A little bit of patience. (slow & steady wins the race) Step # 1 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-001.jpg Carefully cut your Combi-Melta along the red lines as shown. Step # 2 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-002.jpg Carefully cut your Flamer along the red lines as shown. Step # 3 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-003.jpg Step 3 isn't really an actual step, but these are the parts you should now have. Step # 4 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-004.jpg Carefully file the area inside the red box so that it is flush with the main body of the Bolter. This is were the Promethium canister will attach. Step # 5 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-005.jpg *Optional* Carefully file the area inside the red box so that it is flush with the main body of the Bolter. You don't have to complete this step if you don't want to. (However, if you want to use a standard two handed Bolter pose it will be necessary.) Step # 6 http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-006.jpg Attach the Flamer nozzle as shown and attach the Promethium canister to the now recessed area. The canister should angle down at about 45 degrees. Alternate Step # 6 (For those who must have an ignition source for the Promethium.) http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/Tutorials/Combi-Flamer_Step-006-1.jpg Attach the Flamer nozzle as shown and attach the Promethium canister to the now recessed area. The canister should angle down at about 45 degrees. Now, for the finished product! Ganuus
I've never been a fan of the upside-down pilot light on flamers....just unnatural, though it is possible. I think they look pretty ace. AngryJohnny
I'm not a fan of the upside down flamer nozzle either, that's why my Sternguard don't have it. ;) When I posted them in the WIP form though, there were some people asking how the promethium would be ignited & that I needed the ignition source. So I included it here with the 'optional' step 6.
