JEFF4i
When I do my drop pod force, which is my force of choice, I don't normally take True Grit. How many of you do? I can see the potential in using it, since most of your combat is going to be close anyway. Your thoughts? saphius
Take True Grit? It's a special rule that we get and don't buy?.. If by take True Grit you mean give you Grey Hunters bolters... in a DP list that's what you should be doing. I usually do 5 with bolters, one spec wep, 2 PP, and a PW or two. I would think most Wolves players would be inclined to take even more bolters though. Bran Scalphunter
True-Grit is always there- its a built in rule. As for DP squad I'd go: 10 Hunters Plasma/Flamer Power fist, bolter Power weapon, bolt pistol plasma pistol, ccw x2 bolter, ccw x5 frags No Codex at hand so I can't tell ya if it's worth the points, but I like this set up the most. Allows plenty of dakka on landfall, and once they try to swarm you you can krump them with power fist and power weapon attacks. JEFF4i
Yeah, I'm a tard, hehehe. Misread the rule, was thrown, bought into it, and then realized my folly, all in about...16 hours. williamdelgray
When I read the title, I read it as actually using the drop pod with True Grit. I lol'd a little. Blade_of_Russ
I always make use of True Grit. a Grey Hunter using True Grit will always have 2 attacks in H2H (he gets the 2 weapon bonus, but never gets the charging bonus). It does mean they can't shoot before charging, but as there's no benefit to charging (no additional attack) you might as well do the shooting (which, assuming the unit has no special melee weapons, has a slightly better chance of causing a wound) and let the other side charge at you. If you really want to focus on H2H when exiting the drop pods, just go with BCs, who get more attacks anyway.
