Game One vs Imperial Guard

Guy was named Dan and was a fairly laid back guy. We started the game a little late as it took him awhile to set up his army. Dan didn't have an extra army list so I can't give an exact list but he had a fairly static gunline with two armored fist squads for mobile objective grabbing. The biggest hitting part of his list was the 3 Leman Russes he brought to the table.

For this mission we were playing Sieze Ground with 5 objective markers and pitched battle deployment. I won the roll to go first and the objectives were set up mostly in my favor. Three objectives were spread out along the edge of my deploymnt zone: one is a small rock outcropping, one out in the open along the centerline lengthwise and the other at the pumping station on the right side of my deployment zone. One objective was in the dead center of the board and the last objective was on my opponents deplyment zone line on the board centerline.

Cover was light on the board mostly consisting of rocky outcroppings. One large building was located in the center of the board and there was a large pumping station on the right side of my deployment zone

My opponent deployed in a straight up static gunline with his armoured fist chimera's hiding behind Leman Russes to hide los and/or give cover saves two Russes and a Chimera on his left flank and the last Chimera and Russ on his right. I deployed each squad of Grey Hunters near an objective. One squad in the rocky outcropping to the left and one behind the pumping station to the right. The Land Raider with BloodClaw passengers and Venerable Dreadnought were smack dab in the middle of my deployment zone to push the objectives along the centerline. My Sniper scouts I deployed in a small rock outcropping to the right of the Dread and Land Raider.

On to the game it was fairly simple the game lasted about an hour as my opponent did almost no movement at all in his turn simply sliding the Russes up 6" with the Chimera's hiding behind them. As for me I mostly stood firm firing away with the Land Raider to full effect every turn. With me starting the game up 3 objectives to 0 (he had a heavy weapons squad that was part of his hq on the objective near his zone) I simply had to survive to win.

Game highlights my Drop pod comes in on the first turn and veers off 12 inches toward my deployment zone( I was trying to drop them on the objective nearest his deployment zone). Massed firepower made short work of the squad though they did manage to wipe out a heavy weapons team and immobilize a chimera before dieing.

5 turns of Lascannons from my Land Raider at his Russes ended up with only a single weapon destroyed result. I was rolling crap on the pen. table.

My wolf scouts OBELing on turn 2 wiffed horribly failing to even punch the rear armor of a chimera witha meltagun and PP at point blank range. they died too a man from massed fire his next turn.

His Leman Russes had a field day dropping large templates on my Grey Hunters to the left though it took 4 turns to finally kill them all.

My Venerable Dreadnought won MVP for that game cause he floot slogged across the board soaking up fire power the entire time. He ended the game with no arms left locked in close combat with an infantry platoon on the objective nearest my opponents deployment zone. On his way there he took out an Armored Fist squad and its Chimera and the hq's Chimera.

So that objective was contested the other two objectives along the centerline I controlled uncontested with a big conga line of Bloodclaws thier Land Raider got immobilized from AT fire. I also controlled the objective to the right of my deployment zone and my opponent controlled the objective on the left side of my deployment zone. I didn't think my opponent was close enough to rush up with my Chimera and then jump out and run into range to control it but he ended up making it barely.

So with the scoring system we were using I ended up with a Major Victory giving me 8 Battle points. I also didn't manage to get any battle point modifiers this game either

Game Two vs Necrons

Forgot the name of the guy playing Necrons and as this was my first game ever against Necrons I was worried as I didn't have a good grasp of thier rules

Lord with Res Orb

3x 10 man Warrior squads

Monolith

Lord with orb and destroyer body

3 Destroyers

5 Immortals

Tomb Spyder

Also had a Wraith

I think that was his entire army I might of forgotten something

For this game we were paying a combination of Capture and Control with Annihilation using Pitched Battle Deployment we were also using 'Ard Boys style Kill points. Terrain was extremely sparse on his board with 3 rock outcroppings in his deployment zone and the left side of the board dominated by a huge sewage treatment plant looking thing. I also had a small rock outcropping and there was a small bunker on the right side of the board.

I placed my objective behind the sewage plant in my deployment zone with both grey hunter squads castled up around it. My Land Raider I placed right in the center again and aimed it toward thier lines supported by my dread again and the sniper scouts were in the bunker. His objective I thought he placed it on the left side of his deployment zone but it ended up on the right side. He had the walking Lord with Res orb and two squads of warriors castled up on it. Rest of his army he deployed directly opposite my Raider.

Game Highlights

I had first turn again

This was another fast game with his only movement being moving his destroyers around for better firing lanes.

My Terminators drop in on target to where I thought his objective was I found out after they were down his objective was on the other side. My bad for not paying attention. In thier turn of shooting they manage to roll all 1's for 8 assault cannon hits =( I did put a wound on his lord from the Heavy flamer though.

His return fire from just the destroyers killed off all the Terminators as I rolled again all 1's for thier saves. At this point I was cursing the dice gods and just waiting for the loss to roll in.

My sniper scouts managed to kill off all the Destroyers and the Lord from sniper fire. Though 2 of the destroyers got back up and the lord ressed with full wounds from his phylacerty( ?spelling). Then they killed off his wraith in close combat. After that they ened up sniping at warrior squads taking one to half strength.

My Land Raider sped up the center and dropped my blood claws right into his unit of Immortals. The Land Raider was subsequently immobilized and had all its guns blown off befoe finally dieing in turn 5. It managed to kill of the 2 destroyer that got back up from the scout fire, though 1 stood up again after that.

My Bloodclaws completely wiped out the Immortals in close combat though they all stood back up and then warped to his monolith. The Blood claws then proceeded to kill the same Tomb spyder 3 times in the next few turns before dieing to ranged fire. This guy was rolling 6's all day for WWB rolls.

My wolf scouts obeling assaulted a warrior squad on his objective beating them in close combat and subsequently running them down with sweeping advance. They died to massed firepower as usual.

So after a grueling game in which I was destroying things left and fight that kept standing up we counted Kill Points for a Draw breaker as we each had 1 objective. Him 11 KPs Me 3 KPs

A loss and 2 Battle Points as I managed not to get any modifiers this game either

So we recorded it and turned it in. Later on I was told by the TO that if a unit is wiped out to a man and stands up again you still get the KPs as it forms a new unit when it stands up. This mainly applied to his Destroyers, Immortals, and Destroyer Lord who I killed to a man multiple times through the game. So with the modified KPs it would of been: Necrons 11 KPs, Wolves 19 KPs. But as we already turned in the results I was stuck with the loss. Otherwise it would of been a Minor Victory and 6 Battle Points.

Game Three vs Tyranids

Last Game was straight up Annihilation using Dawn of War Deployment. My opponent was my girlfriend and I know her army well, since I designed it.

She had

Hive Tyrant -

Enhanced Senses

Extended Carapace

Toxin Sacs

Barbed Strangler

Venom Cannon

Hive Tyrant -

Acid Maw

Toxin Sacs

Winged

Warp Field

Scything Talons

Lashwhip + Bonesword

Warrior Brood -

3x Warrior

Enhanced Senses

Extended Carapace

Toxin Sacs

Scything Talons

2x Devourer

1x Barbed Strangler

2x Genestealer Brood -

8x Genestealers

Scuttlers

2x Carnifex -

Enhanced Senses

Barbed Strangler

Twin-Linked Devourer

2x Gaunt Brood -

12x Gaunts

12x Fleshborer

2x Hormagaunt Brood -

10x Hormagaunts

Toxin Sacs

Lictor - 80 pts

She won first turn and to make a long story short I managed to table her and only had my Sniper scouts with 2 men left. 1 Grey hunter squad with 3 men left. and 4 Blood Claws and my Land Raider.

At this point we didn't try to do anything special we lined up opposite each other and straight up slugged it out.

So I had the Massacre and all the modifiers so I took away 14 Battle Points from this game.

For the overall standings we also took into account a painting score that we had impartial 3rd party people from a painting club come in to judge for us.

My army was only half painted but I still managed to get a score of 7 out of 10. Just for reference if you had the table top 3 colors and nothing special you got a 3 on your painting score. So I think a 7 with only half the army painted and the other primed was pretty good.

So adding up all my points I ended up with 31. The overall winner had 40 points and he was playing dual Lash static Slaanesh gunline. 1st place had like 38 or so points I forget exactly and he was playing pure Khorne Chaos. 2nd Place had 32 points and he was playing Eldar. 3rd Place was a Last Chancers Armoured Company( actually just a full mechanized I.G. army) with 31.5 points.

Overall it was fun and in the end all the standing were fairly close and it was a really fun day. Sorry for the long winded post and lack of pics but forgot my camera due to being excited to go play. On the 13th there is tournament in Staunton that I'm gonna try to get into so I'll make sure to keep you guys updated on how my wolves do there.

Used to play necrons.

You would of gotten the KP for units, but not for the Lord. Basically, if you wipe out a unit and they get WBB rolls thanks to a Tomb Spyder (or close enough) they join that unit, but the unit is gone. Doesnt (or didnt used to) work that way with IC's.

Now you know, and knowings half the battle.
