the jeske
If the enemy deployed at the front of his deployment zone why would he do that against any SW army build [unless he never played against sw]? You should be disembarking and rapidfiring by turn 2 at the latest, and whether through shooting or through close combat, remain effective for the rest of the game this sounds like playing against hth armies with 0 shoting . for me its turn 2/3 they double tap and get shot at by the opponent units and get hit by counter units etc . BC suffer the same but they will have cover from plasmas [and GH do not] and counter units are much much less happy about attacking BC then GH [+ its possible that after the shoting phase , the all important fist/weapon guy is dead and then GH are in real trouble , something that wont happen to BC unless one unit gets hit by a whole army] . as per the situation you were talking about, unless I'm misunderstanding you, will be footslogging . . . need i say more about the turn by turn effectiveness of that strategy? yep foot slogging for me as I dislike the LR rush army as too much of a one trick pony . But you still run 2 rhinos as LoS blockers [one for the GH you have to take and one for one of the IC] .
