What are people's thoughts on Land Raiders?

I'm tempted to put a Land Raider Redeemer in the army and fill it either with Blood Claws or Wolf Guard in terminator armour but in the past i've always been put off my how easy they were to total. I'm being assured that they are more survivable nowadays.

Arent the finer rides reserved for the elite? I dont think that you can put blood claws inside a Land raider..

I think Land Raiders are definately viable. POTMS is great now. The crusader is still the best variant over all if you want to use your land raider in the normal drive up and destroy fashion but the redeemer isn't too bad either and with the new way that POTMS works the good old las cannon variant has potentail too. Do not underestimate having the ability to fire at two different targets with your weapons, especially the redeemer and the original. The redeemer makes good use of it because you can use the flamers to burn units on both sides of the raider and the las cannons can actually pick off two targets.

Now what I'm thinking about doing is possibly creating two Retinues of CC terminators and rolling them up in Redeemers to utterly rip some units to shreds. Maybe not the most viable option, but it'll be really fun. So I see some good options for land raiders in the future.

Also one small defense of the original land raider in comparison with the predator. The predator is undoubtedly the better anti tank specialist however, the land raider has the versatility of being a transport and the awesome special rule of POTMS. This is big because if your predator is shaken it can't shoot at all while a land raider can keep firing. Also a land raider can keep moving at combat speed and fire both las cannons at differenttargets, while a dedicated tank hunting predator cannot move to use its full arsenal and still most shoot at one vehicle (which isn't that bad in most cases but flexibility is always nice.)
