feuer_faust
Greetings! Despite evidence to the contrary, I am continuing to build, paint and convert my green marines! Here is my latest project, a five-man sternguard squad. They are meant to ride about in a razorback, sometimes with a character in tow, and solve problems. I really should've made one with a cigar. Front! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_front.jpg Back! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_back.jpg Some dudes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_members_2.jpg Some more dudes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_members_1.jpg The sarge. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_members_3.jpg All models are made from 100% plastic bits, customized or otherwise. (Also, love the way my camera washes out the pictures :P ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/ Share on other sites

TechnoBarbarian
Does that nifty inferno pistol represent a combi-melta? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1802455 Share on other sites
ShotgunFacelift
Nice colorscheme, I like the Green and Gold. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1802467 Share on other sites
feuer_faust
orphanfeast99: I think it's from the new Tactical Marines sprue, but I'm not 100% certain. TechnoBarbarian: Yes indeed! I was initially going to chop up a plastic meltagun and plastic bolter and combine the two... then I realised how easy a plastic inferno pistol would be. So viola! ShotgunFacelift: Thanks! The 'standard' scheme is green and bone trim, but being vets these guys get a little extra. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1802539 Share on other sites

elijahdprophet
I love the idea of using a pistol to count as a combi. Makes me glad my sternguard have magnetic shoulders... feuer_faust
I love the idea of using a pistol to count as a combi. Makes me glad my sternguard have magnetic shoulders... Thanks! turelhim vampire
That head is in the Dev squad too, cos I've got it and I never bought a new tac squad box. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1805223 Share on other sites
Wolf89
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/feuerfaust/Sternguard%20and%20Dude/stern_members_2.jpg I really like the guy's helmet on the left... he just is really cool and it attracts me, I like it. :D A cigar would have definitely fit here, and as others have said, the color scheme is really nice. Oh, and the melta-pistol-somethingoranother is a really nice touch. feuer_faust
Wolf89: Thanks! To obtain this helmet, you must be willing to defile a beaky marine (gasp!). It's actually a trick I picked up on the BnC: just file and cut until you get a very knightly wedge for the helmet. sgtNACHO: I think I may do just that, see what people think of the regular guys. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1805494 Share on other sites
Isiah
Nice squad. See my comment in your Crusader and Vindy thread on the colour scheme adn style - same applies here too. It's refreshingly un-'Eavy Metal. I like it a lot. The wooden forward stocks on the bolters (if that is what was intended) is a neat touch. Cheers I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154492-sternguard-scratchbuilt/#findComment-1806532 Share on other sites
Corporal_Chaos
I really like your color scheme. Very Nice. Looks great. Keep it up and you will have me painting before the end of the weekend. The Mad Hermit
The bionic head is in the current Tactical Squad box, not in the current Devastator box. I've got an entire Battle Company's worht of stuff, and I've got a total of six of them, not eight. Otherwise, good stuff, man. Always liked Marines in that kinda modern military green.
