Cpt Stahl
Nice interpretation of Vulkan He'Stan. To me he is too green, he could need some black on a shoulder pad for example but otherwise he is ok :) Cpt Stahl. Corpse King
That's one cool looking model. I too think it is a bit too green, but then again his armour may have been polished up just before striding into battle/making planetfall etc. The nozzle of the flamer looks a bit too pristine. Otherwise, a FANTASTIC representation of Vulkan He'Stan. JetfireUK
A nice representation. One thing - one of the Saurus heads on the backpack has a patch of green paint on it. Apart from that nicely done. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154844-vulkan-he%C2%B4stan/#findComment-1806844 Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Thanks for the kind replys. I´m glad that you like him. I had have the same thoughts about that he´s too green. I think i´ll repaint the upper plate of the shoulderpads in black. The nozzel of the Flamer is allright when you look on the model. I think it looks too pristine cause of the flash light. And i think the scales could need a highlighting with some orange. Sons of Horus
add a few other colours too. and his helmet looks a bit funny but other than that he's cool. Exhumed
Agreed, about the finest vulkan so far. bravo! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154844-vulkan-he%C2%B4stan/#findComment-1810888 Share on other sites
aekold
A very nice conversion of Vulkan. As said before a bit green, but with some minor adjustments that can be helped. May be it is the flash of the camera but I believe there is some gold on his powerfist/flamer arm, above the skull. Dark Bjoern
You´re right. There had been some gold but i have already fixed it. Meanwhile the upper armour plate ot the shoulder pad and the knee caps had become black. Maybe i can make new pics on Sunday. Alys Dwr
A very nice model, can't wait to see the updated pics. My comment would be that the highlights are a tad too thick (not paint wise, width wise) and a bit stark. If you take the base armour colour and a fine brush i'm sure you could reduce them by about half, and in the process give a second highlight level. That and (personal preference) the shading isn't dark enough but that could just be the flash washing them out. I'd use a very watered down DA green with a touch of black ink to make a nice dark wash and direct it into the crevices etc. The model is great though, i love the use of saurus heads for the back pack. Skull_Lord
Nice model, although he would look better if you painted the soft armour (joints) black. Commissar Molotov
The lack of an official model means I've seen a lot of Vulkan Scratchbuilds. Really an opportunity to exercise their creativity, and this is no different! Good job. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154844-vulkan-he%C2%B4stan/#findComment-1812299 Share on other sites
Wolf89
I see more and more people building him with that cloak, makes me wish I had waited so I can copy that idea before I GS'd the whole back. ^_^ I really like those salamander heads on the backpack, again wish I waited. Not to fond of the color though, I pictured a more "burnt" green that's darker, it just seems too bright. The spear head is perfect though, great color choice. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154844-vulkan-he%C2%B4stan/#findComment-1812395 Share on other sites

I've got to agree, mate - Black Trim round the Shoulder Pads would do a ton of good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154844-vulkan-he%C2%B4stan/#findComment-1812636 Share on other sites
