Gareth
I'm not sure many of you guys are aware, but my latest hobby endeavor is to paint a full company (106 marines, 9 tank transports) of Ultramarines. Plus more units from other companies (1st, 8th and 10th, not to mention the armoury). Well last week I painted a milestone mini. The actual chapter master himself. http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/gallery2/d/2124-1/Marneus%202.JPG http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/gallery2/d/2122-1/Marneus%201.JPG http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/gallery2/d/2126-1/Marneus%203.JPG http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/gallery2/d/2128-1/Marneus%204%20Libby%20Chappy.JPG And here is a pic of the progress of the project so far http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/gallery2/d/2130-1/UM%20army%20shot.JPG Thanks for looking. Wolfman Walt
His face is eerily real. Good job on everything, but his face is very well done. Askren
Very nice Calgar, indeed. I might take a few tips from it while finishing mine, heh. All in all, great looking 4th Company. Could we get a shot of that banner? It looks great from the distance. Askren
I found it minutes after posting that, and then face-palmed myself thoroughly for missing it, heh. Great stuff either way. I really need to find out how people get such a bright blue. My Second Company looks very dark, by comparison, and I really want to brighten it up a bit. From what I CAN tell, you airbrush/spray on your blue, right? Do you go over that with a lighter blue, and a highlight? AngryJohnny
:D Excellent work. I have to agree the face on Calgar is fantastic. I am also really impressed with your Chaplain, the parchment in particular. Akozz
Awesome painting ! everything is just perfect. What blue is that ? I never know which one to chose, regal blue is too dark imo, ultramarines blue might be a little darker, maybe modrian ? im confused ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154967-marneus-calgar-chapter-master-to-the-ultramarines/#findComment-1809008 Share on other sites

Brother Captain Andrecus
Great paintjob. I love the Calgar mini, excellent sculpt. I just wish I could viably take him in my army! Lol. Askren
You can. Provided you pay the points cost, you can take him using his rules. The model, however, is drenched in Ultramarines symbols that might not be the most fitting in other armies.
