I was thinking of making an evil techpriest or some kind of chaosy mars guy who got corrupted after the Horus Heresay. Any ideas?

I was thinking about some kind of mechanised chaos army, with this guy as the leader. The chaos gods have corrupted him by talking to him and telling him that they are the omnissiah. I like the idea of corruption after the Horus Heresay. His warband think that he is a bit crazy even by their standards and are just following him for the pillage and slaughter. :wub:

Well, you could just create some back-yard fluff and use a converted Space Marine Techmarine model, using tweaked rules for a Techmarine with Servo Harness?

 

Or, you could go all the way - everything from scratch. I'd love to see that one pan out. You could write your own fluff and rules, and use the huge array of SM and CSM Generic Bits to custom build a really immense unique model!

Chaos Space Marine Bolter

. Dual Scope

 

The whole Dual Scope thing, just two Bolter Scopes - one at the side of the weapon, one on top. You could use that as a Master Crafted Bolter and one of the weapons of your dude. The other weapon... could be anything - power fist would be cool, as it would represent his bulk and all, being mechanicus and such.

 

I'd definitely use a Mk.6 helmet for this one - about time someone used one in a killer conversion.

i made one as my second HQ for my old bile enhanced army, in larger points games i really needed something with a bit more of a punch. so i used "counts as" rules for huron blackheart.................

 

 

1. get one of the plastic robed legs from dark angel vets and put a suitable chaos marine chest(i used the one with the chaos star) and fire them together.

 

2. get the nurgle head from the new CSM sprue( the one with 3 eyes) and carefully cut the horn off and get yourself 2 shoulder pads( i used some old metal mail ordered ones i had lying about but anything is fine) one with the chaos star and a skull is good as you can emulate the black/white scheme of the AM using brass and metal instead of the black/white.

 

3.give him with a techmarine axe defiled by chaos with some cunning( like a fox) converting for the right arm.

 

4.for the left arm and heavy flamer part( which counts as your dark adept starting to toy around with the obliterator virus!) use the left arm from the metal chaos lord with the combi-melta, cutting the melta part off and replacing it with whatever flamer looking end you can find in your bitz box.

 

5.servo-arm backpack from the iron warriors lord, self explanatory......

 

6. the fun bit! making a familiar to count as the hamadrya, i had loads of ideas when i came to this part but i finally settled on the little robot dog from the necromunda arbites squad, although it was a close call between this and making a chaos servoskull with horns, can just use anything you think fits in with your dark adepts theme or not bother at all

 

 

7. add paint to flavour....

 

 

tada! all done :D

I fought a guy called Andy that this year UKGT heat 1 that had a very cool Chaos Tech-priest force

 

Just a quote from my GT report with photos of his army

 

Tech warfare

Oppent: Andy

Team: Bingowing

Army: Mech Chaos

List: Daemon Prince with lash, 2x unit of 7/8?? with Plasma gun in Rhino & Champ with power fist, 8 Chaos marine with Plasma, 4x Oblits, Deflier, unit of Termies.

Loss

 

Andy was yet a very sportinging player & really enjoy the game. His army was very cool to add onto this. They are Tech Priest who turn to chaos & has had the army for a while. I rememeber seeing photos on warseer & though how cool they where, back then Andy had a Pred that had hun Servo on the side which was cool.

 

Also to Quote my friend Pete Foly head of eavy metal team in this month White Dwarf. (well might not be exsact quote) It is alway best to fight the same race/army to help learn. With both me & Andy having Mech Chaos help me learn a few new stuff as well :(

 

As you will see the game was a loss as Andy manger to get a Rhino to get one of my two Object I was holding. The game ended turn 5, but if it went on... another what could happen??? As I had my Melta gun squad ready to take on Andy Rhino & my Oblits are aim up there Plasma Cannons on what was left of Andy chaos squads meaning Andy would loss the two Object he was holding (there four object in total).

 

Also before I forget Andy as said was part of Bingowing (hope that the spelling??) team & I hear a lot about them & there tournament result & how they have a Rep (it been nothing but really good stuff I hear) When asking Andy about if he was part a time & told me this. Andy keep the rep of Bingo high as said he was very sporting in ever way. Also it was good (& his army deserve it) Andy army was one of 8 armies up for painting/army.

If the game went on for a turn or two it was another, my Melta gun squad could have took on the Rhino & hold the object there, while the Oblits could Plasma Cannon what was left of Andy squads.

 

But then Andy if won combat we had with my Squad No1 vs one of his + Oblit. Andy could have ran them & hold a object near by.

nice army as usual IP. i've always admired your IWs, they're probably the best IWs i've seen in a while.

 

i was about to suggest IW but i guess you beat me to it IP. oh well just use a space marine techmarine model then convert it a bit by adding even more tech stuff like obliterator arms or more servos.

As shown earlier on the WIP forum here at B&C, here's my Iron Warrior Warsmith/sorcerer "counts as Huron".

 

He's got every weapon option to represent the abilities.

 

In his fluff the lord has reconstructed his gear to incorperate deamontech.

All the daemonic heads grant him extra reflexes/eyes & attacks to represent the warptime. Struggling against them may case some pain (due to a failed psychic test).

The heavy flamer = represented by the big mawarm

Powerweapon = the spear he's holding

Powerfist = the servoarm

Indeed, however it's Christmas so I feel like playing nice tonight. ;)

 

My best bet would be to send Vandael a PM with the question regarding the model instead of a post in the topic Hilhog0, since it's quite often happens that people just check a topic once and then don't check it again for several days (personal experience :D ).

 

Here's a breakdown of what I think it is tho;

 

Servo-arm - A breakdown of a load of different bits and ends, most likely scratch built, except for a Daemon head exhaust from the old Chaos Vehicle accessory sprue and the chain-blades who are from the curved Chaos Marine chainswords.

 

Backpack - One of the backpacks from the "new" plastic Possessed I think. The lower part of it makes me think of old school Chaos models tho so maybe it's build from one of the older metal backpacks aswell.

 

Head, left shoulder pad and Chest/back piece - the old Iron Warrior box.

 

Legs are straight from the Fantasy Chaos Warriors.

 

Arms and right shoulder pad are from the Chaos SM box.

 

The "plasma-blaster" on the right hand first made me think of the SM Techmarine in servo-harness Plasma-cutter, but the open dragon mouth design made me think that it perhaps might be looted from some Epic scale Chaos Titan or the like?

 

Cloth on hanging from the sides of the waist are the CSM grenade/ammo holster bits in the CSM box, while the one on the back is from the Fantasy Battles Marauder sprue I think?

 

Power Weapon blade looks like some sort of old school Force Sword, could be any of the old metal minis, the dragon mouth the blade is spurting out of is from the same sprue as the dragon mouth on the servo-arm. The lower part of the "spear" makes me think of either the Berserker Chainaxes (either of all the variants) or possibly Hurons Force axe. It's could possibly be from some sort of power mace tho.

 

And that would be everything I think. :(

 

On the note of a corrupted Magos I think the way of Dark Angel veterans/Techpriest Enginseers/Techmarine would be the way to go.

Hello You all,

 

Nice to see enhousiastic replies to my mr. Metal. I just got started with converting my BL to IW & I really wanted to include a lord/sorcerer with a servo arm.

I'll break it down to you with a pick so it's easier to see. TheDarkApostle is almost correct & has a keen eye in the bits used.

The servoarm:

This thing took me more time moddeling then the rest of the guy.

 

a = 3 chainsword ends attached to a chaos vehichle deamonic head. To made the upper one fit I used a small saw through the middle.

 

b = guitarwire strings (put in the little round pieces from any plasticsprue)

 

c = cities of death lamppost (with an moddelingknife I had cut of the skull and repositioned it 45degrees)

 

d = the sevoskull with chaos star from the CSM champion backpack add on. I used a small drill to cut out the inner workins a bit befor cutting the skull out. I tried it without drilling & I messed it up because the lpastic gave way.

 

e = the powercable of an plastic terminator chainfist

 

f = chainsword without the "theeth" and a piece of paperclip

 

g = the backpack from the CSM sprue (the one for AC's)

 

h = bike hubcap

 

Powerweapon:

 

i = Chaos warrior sword

 

j = csm bannerarm with an chaos vehichle deamonic head.

 

k = part of the forcestaff from the plastic csm terminatorlord kit

 

l = ponytale from an bezerker weapon.

 

rightarm:

 

The Kai-gun from the "old" metal csm terminator lord.

 

Lower body:

 

Chaos warrior

With al kinds of skulls & spikeybits etc added.

 

Upper body:

IW conversion kit body

 

Head

IW conversion kit head

 

It was a bit daunting for me when I started this project but in the end the key element was patience.

 

For the construction of the body I used the old doghouse gothicmarine (truscale) tutorial.

 

When constructing everything make sure to drill & pin most bits with small pieces of paperclip.

Also because the use of different materials makes him unbalanced on some terrain I glued a coin ( 2 eurocents)underneath the base making him more sturdier. I learned that trick from my mate who was tired of his Teragmants toppling over.

 

So Hildog0, I hope this satisfies your needs. If you do decide to make one yourself please feel free to rip this idea and turn it in to your own.

Hes an Imperial Guard Enginseer with a tenticle made out of greenstuff which you cant really make out

 

in the old rules he was a Chaos luitenant armed with just a Dark Blade and was my HQ choice in my Lost and the Damned army

 

 

 

I did this conversion probaly 4 years ago, after the eye of terror campaign, id love to do a remake one day probaly using a SM Techmarine with a servo harness as a base or that Forgeworld Tech Priest
