Pyriel
Sculpted a deathwatch rhino for the DW veterans of the chapter (they act as sternguards) if they will ever need a rhino transport. A couple WIPs: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/Greenstuff/I2.jpg http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyr...current=DW1.jpg Finished version except for the stormbolter: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/Miniatures/rhino4r.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/Miniatures/rhino2r.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/Miniatures/rhino1r.jpg Either I´m done here or I´ll make a small fleet of such rhinos to use in apoc games. Havent decided yet. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155244-home-made-deathwatch-rhino/ Share on other sites
Richie
very nice work! how long did it take you must have been a few layers of green stuff and days letting it dry before moving to the next bit? Askren
I would assume you just roll out some GS, slap it on the doors, let it harden a tad, then cut/file it flush, and stamp in the letters. Captain Malachi
I think I need new trousers :P Very impressive, me wants one  Is the scale effect more GS or clever painting? kalle
if i could pick a rhino , any rhino in the world , It'd be this . then i would field it with my bt army and ignore the akward questions. seeing how i can't do this , ill just pick up the remains of my jaw (that hit the desk and) and walk away .... in silence <Deleted by the =][=> !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pyriel
Richie: Askren: I flattened out GS in rows like two rows of letters on each occasion. Then pressed out the letters and then made the lines that separate them. It was kind of a sloppy job as things are uneven and so on. Captain Malachi: The scales are greenstuff, I´m making them on all my vehicles actually, looks cool and salamandery in my opinion. Kalle: Well, I´m sure I can give away a top hatch and a door or two:P Its christmas after all dude :P Marine: In here actually, some 500 posts back I guess. lol Wiplash: Well, the scales came first but then GW annoyed my inner peace by making awesome sternguard rules that really fit and are fluffy in my army so I just had to make a sternguard rhino or five but I came to a dead end since what is a sternguard rhino really, what would it look like? A first company rhino looks just as boring as a regular rhino but has a cross painted on it *wow...really*. So I remembered that sallies are involved in the deathwatch and when returning to their chapter they get special ammo as a kind of reward for their services. So how better to represent a squad of sallie sternguard visually speaking I mean then making them deathwatch veterans returne home with their own spanking new transport? And thus the idea was born. Glad you like it by the way. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155244-home-made-deathwatch-rhino/#findComment-1812927 Share on other sites

hellbunny
very nice green stuff work. i however feel there is something lacking in the paint job. its clean and good, but it is lacking some contrast that would really make it pop. like the white on the doors on the sides make it pop. maybe try some extreme white highlights along the high points and corners. i feel that would help finish it. Commissar Molotov
Very nice! I'm also working with the Deathwatch/Sternguard route and it's very inspiring seeing your work. Spazzola
That is an amazing job you have done there...it is simply bloody intimidating. No matter how many lascannons I had trained upon that, I'd still probably try to think of a reason to 'fall back' and 'regroup', just to get away from that :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155244-home-made-deathwatch-rhino/#findComment-1813387 Share on other sites

Master Toddius
I don't see hardly anything from you in here in a long while, then you walk in and shake the forum with this rhino and the termie assault squad. WTH dude. :( Thats an excellent DWKT rhino.
