Pyriel
A whole lot of detail work and some greenstuff on the personal heraldic shields and the shoulderpads and a lot of the stuff on the and lava bases with crystals and mushrooms (I love mushrooms so that will be an occurring theme on the firedrake bases). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/1st%20comp/ter3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/1st%20comp/ter2.jpg 6:th squad coming up soon. feuer_faust
Nice bit of work, here. Very high-contrast painting, really gives them a dynamic feel. My only critique so far is that we need some close-ups. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1812589 Share on other sites
Onisuzume
Where's the heavy flamer? ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1812594 Share on other sites
lmyrick
Yes, some closeups, please! They look great, but I want to see more. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1812753 Share on other sites
Vash113
The color transition on those models is absolutely fantastic, amazing work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1812915 Share on other sites
Pyriel
The heavy flamer is gone as assault terminators cant take one now days. Here are some quick close ups: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/1st%20comp/ter01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/1st%20comp/ter02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Pyriel/1st%20comp/ter03.jpg Vash113: Believe it or not but the colour transitions are actually pretty sloppy (at least by my standards). These are standard painted terminators of the "bulk" kind that are there to fill up half the 1:st companies worth of minis for my Salamanders 1:company project. The next squad that´s coming up will be my first real effort terminator squad with pretty much more greenstuff comversions added to it then GW plastic underneath. At least that is the plan unless this doesnt kill me that is. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1812941 Share on other sites

drizzt73
very nice, I nearly bought some of those shoulder pads earlier in the week. What do you think of them? Master Toddius
I've always loved your stuff, sir. Jade Geen? Love the high contrasts and subtle NMM. The bases are awesome. I love the contrast between the red and green. Makes them pop. And the crystals are a great touch. Very Very clean paintjobs. Not to mention thats the most deadly SM assault squad in the book. ++Edit: BTW, I WANT to see them parked in front of that Sallies LR you did about a year ago. The LRC was the sickest Sallies LR I've ever seen before. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=108734&hl= Onisuzume: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...;hl=sallies+lrc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1813453 Share on other sites

Pyriel
Sons of Horus: Wheee, finally someone commenting on the mushrooms :tu: The mushrooms are greenstuffed. Just make a bulbous stalk with a round foot around it and when it is cured add a flat disc of greenstuff on it and shape it like a mushroom hat. For the wall clinging mushrooms make the hat and when its done "smear" out a stalk underneath. Its really simple and effectful and I love muchrooms. drizzt73: Well, I cant really comment on that since it would be biased as I am the one who sculpted them in the first place ;) Master Toddius: Cool idea. The next squad might be pictured as disembarking from the LRC. chapter master 454
just a minute while i pick up my jaw. they are just the coolest assault termys i've seen, there bases are actually cool as hell and i have to ask, what are they made from and how long it took your to make them (i'm guess styrene foam or something). i also find that if you call that sloppy then holy hell, you must be one hell of a painter as to me thats something i can't do. the colour transitions are great and even the thunder hammers are just, well i wish i could paint something that cool. i now feel like my models are not even right to put up on these forums as yous all make me look like some little 7 year old painter! and i'll say this again, holy hell they're cool! I am Legion
See, Pyriel's Salamanders are one of the reasons I wanted a Salamander army. It's amazing work as usual, I'm actually trying to learn NMM just so that I can have an army like yours. Keep it up pal. If you happen to be in the "Index Astartes" thread make sure you take some time to write a small tutorial. I'd be ever in your service. Pyriel
I will do that, some kind of tutorial will be made, just need to decide on what first. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155245-firedrakes/#findComment-1814055 Share on other sites
I am Legion
Starting Salamanders You just need to tell me what you used for the greens. Bannus had a great tutorial, and his models are crisp, but I would like some of your advice as well.
