Updating my army for 5th ed

So ive got back into the hobby after a short while, and need to update my army. Here is a list for a possible 1000 pts, would you mind looking over it and giving me the benefit of your experience. I also would like it double checking to make sure it is in fact 'legal'.

 

HQ

 

WGBL - Bolt Pistol, Frost Blade, Belt of Russ, Frag Grenades = 107

Ven Dread - Assault Cannon, Flamer, Drop Pod = 200

 

Elites

 

WG Pack Leader - Bolt Pistol, Power Fist, Frag Grenades = 47

Scouts x6 - Power Weapon x2, Meltagun, Frag Grenades x6 = 120

 

Troops

 

Grey Hunters x9 - Meltagun, Plasma Pistol x2, Bolter X6, Rhino = 224

Blood Claws x9 - Power Fist x2, Rhino = 185

 

Heavy Support

 

Vindicator = 115

 

Total = 998 (according to my old calculator)

 

I have chosen the dread in drop pod to use as a diversion / cause confusion unit so the rhinos can race up the board hopefully recieving less attention, the scouts OBEL and pick on targets of opportunity, the WGBL joins the blood claws and the pack leader joins the grey hunters. When these units arrive at the front, obviously the grey hunters shoot and receive a charge (if one comes) and the blood claws assault whats left, hopefully while being assited and supported by the vindicator.

 

Your thoughts?

Your WGBL is a bit light on wargear. A Runic Charm and Wolf Pelt at least (WP is AWESOME in 5th). I favor a WGBL with TDA and an AC myself.. but hey, its a small list.

 

Elites

 

WG Pack Leader - Bolt Pistol, Power Fist, Frag Grenades = 47

Scouts x6 - Power Weapon x2, Meltagun, Frag Grenades x6 = 120

 

Power Fist means no +1 attack for a 2nd CCW unless its another power fist.. so he is better off with a storm shield or some such. Also, Frag Grenades do nothing for him with the power fist. Either trade that for a power weapon or trade the BP for a SS. Also, needs a RC and WP.

 

IMHO, frags are wasted on scouts. But, they seem to be the troop hunting variety, so I could be wrong there.

 

Troops

 

Grey Hunters x9 - Meltagun, Plasma Pistol x2, Bolter X6, Rhino = 224

Blood Claws x9 - Power Fist x2, Rhino = 185

 

Put the WGBL with the claws, the WG Pack leader with the GH.. or loose the WG and upgrade that GH pack to have 1PW and 1PF.

 

Heavy Support

 

Vindicator = 115

Vindicators are pretty decent now.

 

Not sure of points, but you should be using the points from the new C:SM.

Sound strategy, but you could stand to loose a few things to maximize what you have.
