Soul Reapers Obliterator

Megalodon

Recommended Posts

I like the Obliterator concepts put forth by the design staff, but think the execution of the minis is really poor. Both stock models look like they are crouching behind a bush taking a potty break.

I rate them an A- on concept and a D- on execution. I've seen some nice Oblits made from termies but it just didn't do it for me. I really like the masive frame of them in the original concept.

After seeing The Dark Apostle's Oblit that he stood upright ages ago, I knew I wanted to do the same thing. Then I wandered away from 40K for a while and my whole Chaos army sat collecting dust. As fortune would have it when I make my return to 40K just as TDA finished a tutorial for making upright Oblits. This was exactly the fuel I needed.

So here is the completed Obliterator using TDA's inspiring tutorial!

He turned out much better than I thought he would when I started this conversion.

Megalodon, I've said it at least once already but I just can't say it enough; words fail me when I try to explain the feeling of seeing and realizing that my tutorial actually has been inspiring and helpful for someone. ^_^

Thank you for using the tutorial and splendid job on the Obliterator. Keep the army going man, looking at it is always a pleasure. ;)

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate the feedback!

@Sigismund: I completely wiffed on the link thank you for posting it!

@ TDA; No matey, thank you, for without your inspiration this mini may have not reached realization. Get ready for more; as I am cutting up a second Oblit right now! ;)

@ the thousandth whisper; The base color for the flesh is a long out of production Ral Partha flesh tone called East Indian. This color is lightened with GW rotting flesh to give a sickly slightly greenish hue.
