anyone other than me thinking of using Dornian Heresy Loyalists in Space Marine??

Dornian Heresy games? EC, IW, DG, LW vs SW, DA, IF, WS

some legions wouldnt be playable because of mutations or armour variations.

eg. UM (Mk16 Armour), RG (shape shifting), TS (blind helms, crests and staffs), BA (decayed bodies and armour), WB (votive cloths and engraved armour), IH (more mechanisation than is actually possible in the game), NL (batwing stuff, lightning patterns)

available legions: DA, EC, IW, WS, SW, IF, WE, DG, SA, AL

Heck yeah, DH WE led by Lufgt te Lionhearted.

And a few of those legions are playable. BA are plague marines, TS are grey knights, WB are normal marines, NL are also normal marines. Just because stuff is hard to model/paint doesn't mean it can't be used.

@ Kelbor-Hal: Noooo, it's my party and I'll cry if I want to!

Anyhow, I've not gamed with them yet as they are still sat on my work bench slowly, very slowly, getting painted up but my new army is a loyalist Emperror's Children army. Once that is done I'm quite interested in doing a Nurgle Blood Angels army: LOVE the dornian heresy, really adds a new feel for the original legions!

Just a quick word to say that I'm still working on this project - slowly, but surely - and I haven't had my soul eaten by daemons or been abducted by Xenos. ;)

You've got a loyal fan base here dude, we're happy to wait :verymad:

Seconded. Keep it coming, slowly but surely.

I'm guessing the Night Lords are going to end up with something similar to the Black Rage after Konrad's death at Dorn's hands, given the former's psychic abilities. Can we assume Konrad of this universe was more Curze than Night Haunter ? Either way I can't wait to read the piece.
I'm thinking something more original than just a Black Rage repeat. So far, the legions have been distinctly different. The nurgle blood angels dont sound like Death Guard Nurgle, the white scar Slanesh are different than the Emperor's Children Slanesh. I don't think there is any reason to suppose that the Night Lords will be like anything we have encountered before (here is to hoping). I would love to see what the split point Aurelius choose to diverge the normal verse history from the Dorn version as those moments are often the key to the whole chapter.
Greetings and salutations brother Aurelius! I have a query, if I may be allowed to pick your brain for a moment. I apologise if this has already been asked, but will we see any mention of the Soul Drinkers in the Imperial Fists IA, perhaps as disciples of the Tzeentch daemon from the novels?

But how far can you split them before they stop being recongizable as the Night Lords we love and adore (or fear and hate)? Aurelius has a fine line to walk on this one topic. Fortunately he has shown himself easily capable of this task.

Of all the Dorn-verse legions, I see the Nightlords being the closest to norm-verse. Although except this time they need not scavenge nor steal to get what they need. Without sounding to much like a DC comic, I can see the Night lords having some of the most unorthodox equipment of all the legions.

My own personal guest is that the degredation of the Night Lords legion (via recruiting criminals) was dealt with somehow. I expect the Night Lords to be some of the most ruthless, yet disciplined marines the loyalist legions still have. They might pride themselves in being able to do and sacrifice what other legions won't, in memory of their primarch.

Forgive the idle speculation but perhaps the red gauntlet signifies Marines knowing they are on a suicide mission, but step forth to accomplish the needed task ala their primarch?

Thanks for the continued interest and patience with this - I was busy working on the Night Lord article (when I could escape from family and gardening duties) and didn't see the posts of the last few days.

Very briefly, and hopefully not giving too much away, their primarch may have met a Sanguinius-like end at the hands of the Heresy's big bad guy, but the Night Lords won't be getting any black ragey psychic feedback issues. ;) They will still be objects of absolute dread, even for the average Imperial citizen, and are still plagued with terrible visions of the worst possible fate... It just depends what they do with that knowledge. ;)

Regarding the Soul Drinkers, no plans as yet to namecheck them, as I suspect that the Imperial Fists / Black Legion IA will contain so much stuff that they would lose out to what I suspect will have to be a pretty brutal editing process! There! And I didn't even have to give an opinion either way on the author of the novels trying to crowbar the Soul Drinkers into the second founding. :D

Oh, and to keep people updated of when the next article is nearly ready I will flag it in the second subject line of this topic a week or so beforehand.

Back to work!

Aurelius.

OK, as befits the scariest day of the year, the Night Lords IA article will be posted on October 31st - Halloween! ;)

Aurelius.

WOO HOO!! Looking forward to it, good sir. And thanks for posting your stuff here for us to enjoy and peruse.
