Grey Mage
*drops a 24 pack variety case down* So the question I pose is besides the friendly stuff has anyone had any others try to poke at this? TO's, employees, leagues? And do you think well get them at the wolf time, when the new codex comes out? You know along with rules for Leman Russ. Stormlord
Ok this is my reasoning about questioning it. space marines cannot take 2 specials anymore, space wolves can space cannot take multiple power weapons, powerfists, plasmapistols etc etc Space marines with a few exceptions (sternguard) arent nearly as nasty as wolves when it comes to close quarters combat. Also space marine terminators lack the drop entry in the space marine codex whereas the space wolf codex specifies that your terminators CAN ride in drop pods. lots of differences and i just wasnt sure if this is what GW intended, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155447-drop-pod-assault-and-the-wolves/page/2/#findComment-1815476 Share on other sites

Grey Mage
We cant take two special weapons... I really, really wish we could. And Id say our close quarters combat is about twice as effective as that of a tactical squad... because we get precisely twice the attacks out of our Grey Hunter squads. What we in turn lack is the ability to combat squad, the ability to take heavy weapons, and combat tactics. In return we also get keen senses and counter attack to allow us to do our jobs properly. Ive seen no balance issues from SM and SW players of comparative leadership abilities. Its 1 in the morning and the lady says its time for bed.... Ill reply to anything else in the morning. WolfLordLars
The fact that our terminators can drop pod makes up for the fact that they refuse to teleport. All in all its always felt balanced to me. A typical marine army can out shoot us, generally, but the Emperor help them if we get into CC... The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
heck ealier today when i was told this i had to sit down for about a good 15 mins and figure out what i was going to do. i couldnt do much as i didnt have all the proper materials nor time to make another list. in the end it came out to me holding my drop pod sideways along side a vindicator seeing how tall the drop pod was to the rhino chasis lenght. muzzyman1981
Remember, I know this seems a bit silly, but our Codex is back from 3rd Ed, our FAQ is 4th Ed, and the rulebook and SM Codex are 5th Ed. I think, and this is the silly part, that some little bit of leeway needs to be employed. I'm glad that Stormlord at least has his common sense wires connected...thank you for listening to the other side of the question and basing your decision on all the facts rather than just making up your mind and sticking to that. Space Wolves as a whole, I believe, don't like to "cheese" (and we darn well could I think if we really wanted) but people have to remember we are working with an old codex....not just outdated by rules edition....I mean old. *sorry had to mention it as this is a big thing that is brought about by it* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155447-drop-pod-assault-and-the-wolves/page/2/#findComment-1815696 Share on other sites
