Battle-Brother Wags
Hey, that's pretty darn cool looking! I wish I had the ability to free hand some stuff like that! When you said you were new to 40k but you'd already painted up 1500 points I grimaced as I clicked the link, expecting some horribly gloopy and garish mess of a land raider, but what you have there is downright awesome! And yes, its 7:30 on Christmas morning, I just woke up, and I checked the B&C before going down to be with the fam. I'm pathetic, I know. :-) Merry Christmas! *edit* BTW, is that greek they're writing in on that forum? I am studying ancient greek and I'm noticing some significant similarities. Just out of curiousity. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155776-space-wolves-land-raider-crusader/#findComment-1819880 Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
Great work. I love your free hands. Here´s a pic of my dreads, maybe you find some inspiration. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Space%20Wolves/WisdomoftheAncient.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155776-space-wolves-land-raider-crusader/#findComment-1819889 Share on other sites
hendrik
well the most obvious thing is to use wolfy bits found on our sprue like the wolf tails etc another thing is to incoporate wolf heads from the goblin wolf rider sets on your weapons another option is to paint runes on it, something i'dd bet you won't have problems with, looking at your beautifull freehand and hohoho, merry christmas;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155776-space-wolves-land-raider-crusader/#findComment-1819898 Share on other sites
Vassakov
A truely impressive model there - I would love to see your other works. How do you want to convert it - to make it look Space Wolf-y, pelts and tails and a must, you could have a crack at adjusting the CCW to try and make it more "Talon like" and less fist like. Forge World have some good Dreadnought stuff to. WolfLordLars
Yes, its greek. I cant read a bit of it (I really need to take a class) but I am 99.9% sure thats greek. Russian is fairly different, IIRC. Anyway, great work. Awesome looking show piece. Grimmwulf
If you want to use green stuff you can put fur on your dreads with little effort and it looks really cool. It might also be a good idea to paint plenty of runes on your dreads. Another idea of mine is to give your dread "claws" by using spiky bits (found in all sorts of gw sprues) and adding them to the DCW or to the dreads feet, but i didn't try that out.
