Grand Master Raziel Secundus
Hi Folks Quick question... what does everyone do with those small leftover bits of greenstuff? I always seem to end up with a small ball or so and since I live miles away from a reliable source, I hate to waste the stuff. It would make me feel better using the bits so as they would not go completely unused... so any ideas??? Cheers in advance  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155822-what-to-do-with-gs/ Share on other sites
Dark Bjoern
I made balls out of the rest in a size that i can cut out wedges for shoulder joints to repositioning arms. Mal
I make small balls out of it, and when doing a larger project using other modelling clay as a base form, i'll add the GS balls in the mass to reduce loss of clay. Daeothar
I've been using leftovers to sculpt mushrooms to go on bases. Just make a tiny ball and press a rod into one side, then open up the cupshape you've created. Make another, slightly smaller ball (elongated shape if desired) and push it into the hole and presto; mushroom! Needless to say I've got tons of mushrooms in my bitz box, especially since I don't actually play Orks in any system... :( Other than that, I've made ready to go bitz with them; floor panels, by making flat sheets and pressing in detailed stuff (like teardrop plating), or making handles/grips by rolling Greenstuff / ProCreate around a bit of wire (usually straighened paperclip) and rolling it over a mould I made, also from GS, by rolling the grip portion of an exacto knifehandle over it. By rolling the wire with putty over the hardened mould, I get myself great looking rods with a moulded pattern in it. This can be used for canes, staffs, sword handles etc etc. (I've only used this for Warmachine stuff so far, but it lends itself well for 40K too of course). Just make a habit of doing that little bit of extra (but not hard) work when you're done sculpting, and soon, you'll have a heatlhy amount of extra bits in your bitsbox to use or trade... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155822-what-to-do-with-gs/#findComment-1820523 Share on other sites
Serraphim
I try and roll mine out into long sausages, which in a pinch make really good rods or rivets. Noserenda
I just tend to lump it on to bases to break up the flatness a bit pre sand and gubbins. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155822-what-to-do-with-gs/#findComment-1820625 Share on other sites
Metal Fingered Villain
I am a fan of having one or two sculpts that are still in the bulking stages and just stick the excess gs that I'm not using onto them. IamJacksUserName
I roll it out into thin long lines, and later use it for tubes and wiring on other models. ShinyRhino
I use mine to plug the holes in all the slotta bases I have, so I can pin non-slotta Marines to them later. Or, I roll the extra into a ball, then chop it up later on with a hobby knife to make flagstones, or chunks of rock.
