Pendulum
First off, please forgive the quality of the following photos. My camera is about 7 or 8 years old, so very much garbage. For this I used the beautiful "Angel of Iron" model from Micro Art Studios. I fell in love with this model the second I first saw it, and knew that I would one day desire it. The release of the 5th edition marine codex sold me when I saw the new Master of the Forge unit, and I knew that this model would be perfect. It's a Resin model, so there was a large amount of flashing. This is my first time working with resin, and I was very impressed at how soft it was to clean using my modelling knife. During cleaning, I really had no idea what I was going to do for a Conversion beamer. Then I slipped with my knife and damaged the power claw on one arm. Then with some fancy work with a drill and some painting, I had my pre-heresy weapon all built . Baseplate is custom. With the wings I had two major concerns. Firstly, they are so thin that before I painted I could see light through them! Thoughts of rough handed Ork players assaulting him and snapping wings was a major thought, as was how I was going to safely transport it! Also was the thought that the Master of the Forge doesn't have an option for a jumppack, so the wings are purely ornamental. To overcome both problems, I decided to magnetise the wings. My pictures really don't show it well enough, but they connect via a cup-and-ball joint which was very easy to drill into and insert magnets. This way if they are bumped they will either reposition or fall off, not snap. I also can remove them for transportation, or in case a player gets really huffy about their presence. http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8610/mof01uu8.jpg http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/687/mof02bd9.jpg http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8833/mof03ly2.jpg http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/9656/mof04ns6.jpg http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/5439/mof05dy4.jpg http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/2050/mof07xu7.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155872-master-of-the-forge-completed/ Share on other sites

Terminatorinhell
that is a cool model and I'm sure you can also say the wings are super secret servo arms  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155872-master-of-the-forge-completed/#findComment-1821223 Share on other sites
IamJacksUserName
What are the wings made out of, or are they kit bashed from another miniature line. They look quite nice on that model. Brother SRM
Very Adeptus Mechanicus-y. I like it, but I do think the conversion beamer should be a larger weapon, since it is heavy afterall. Pendulum
Thank you for the feedback. What are the wings made out of, or are they kit bashed from another miniature line. They look quite nice on that model. They are part of the same resin kit as the rest of the model. This one. Very Adeptus Mechanicus-y. I like it, but I do think the conversion beamer should be a larger weapon, since it is heavy afterall. I thought about this for a while, but considered that a weapon that makes you lop off an arm (or unscrew/unplug in the case of the Ad-Mechs) fits the bill nicely. I'm not a shill, but I can not recommend Micro Art Studios enough! They have an unbelievable range of baseplates for sale, with alright prices and unbelievably fast shipping. Honda
I too, like the model very much. I'm also very thankful for the link to Micro Arts as I see a lot of potential for a small AdMech Explorator force in some of those figs. Good job all the way around!
