blood_raven_240
Right, so yes, there have been previous threads in relation to specific unit induction from Witch Hunters, Daemonhunters, Imperial Guard. To make things simpler, I figured it'd be a pretty good idea to get all the facts together in one Topic. So, here it is. IAUWTI. Using an IG or SM army as a 'base' list Fill your mandatory slots first: 1 x HQ and 2 x Troops bare minimum, from the relevant codex (so IG for an IG base, SM for an SM base). You can use the variant Chapers like Dark Angels, Space Wolves etc if you want. Then (remembering to stay within the Force Org chart) 0-1 x DH HQ 0-1 x DH Elite 0-2 x DH Troops 0-1 DH Fast Attack In addition, you may bring (remembering that you must stay within the Force Org chart) 0-1 x WH HQ (only if you didn't bring a DH HQ, because your 1st HQ slot has to be a normal HQ from the parent list) 0-1 x WH Elite 0-2 x WH Troops 0-1 x WH Fast Attack Using DH's as the base list Fill your mandatory slots first: 1 x DH HQ and 2 x DH Troops bare minimum then (remembering to stay within Force Org chart) 0-1 x WH HQ 0-1 x WH Elite 0-2 x WH Troops 0-1 WH Fast Attack In addition (provided you can stay within the Force Org chart), you can bring either of the following Inducted forces (one or the other, not both) Space Marines, as in only from the vanilla Codex (your 2 x Troop mandatory slots have to be DH IST's, and you need a DH Inquisitor Lord as your 1st HQ, as Grey Knights aren't allowed to be in the same army as Inducted Space Marines) 0-1 x Scout squad in Troops Any number of Tactical squads for Troops The following are only available if you bring at least 2 x SM Troops first 0-1 x Assault squad for Fast Attack 0-1 x Landspeeder Squadron for Fast Attack (the FAQ tells us to ignore the reference to a 'Landspeeder Tornado' option, so they're all one option now) 0-1 Bike Squadron for Fast Attack 0-1 Devastator squad for Heavy Support 0-1 Landraider for Heavy Support 0-1 Predator for Heavy Support 0-1 Dreadnought for Heavy Support or Imperial Guard without any Doctrines (remembering that your mandatory slots of 1 x DH HQ and 2 x DH Troops have to be filled first) Any number of Infantry Platoons as Troops Any number of Armoured Fist squads as Troops (you don't have to take an Infantry Platoon first to unlock these) The following is only allowed if you have 2 x IG Troops first 0-1 Sentinel squadron as Fast Attack 0-1 Rough Rider squadron for Fast Attack 0-1 Leman Russ battle tank as Heavy Support (normal version, Demolisher variant isn't allowed) Using WH's as the base list Fill your mandatory slots first: 1 x WH HQ and 2 x WH Troops bare minimum then (staying within the Force Org chart) 0-1 x DH HQ 0-1 x DH Elite 0-2 x DH Troops 0-1 DH Fast Attack In addition (provided you can stay within the Force Org chart), you can bring either of the following Inducted forces (one or the other, not both) Space Marines, as in only from the vanilla Codex (your 2 x Troop mandatory slots have to be WH IST's, and you need a WH Inquisitor Lord as your 1st HQ, as Sisters of Battle aren't allowed to be in the same army as Inducted Space Marines) Any number of Scout squads in Troops Any number of Tactical squads for Troops The following are only available if you bring at least 2 x SM Troops first Any number of Assault squads for Fast Attack Any number of Landspeeder Squadrons for Fast Attack (the FAQ tells us to ignore the reference to a 'Landspeeder Tornado' option, so they're all one option now) Any number of Bike Squadrons for Fast Attack Any number of Devastator squads for Heavy Support Any number of Landraiders for Heavy Support (normal version only, Redeemer and Crusader aren't allowed) Any number of Predators for Heavy Support Any number of Dreadnoughts for Heavy Support or Imperial Guard without any Doctrines (remembering that your mandatory slots of 1 x WH HQ and 2 x WH Troops have to be filled first) Any number of Infantry Platoons as Troops Any number of Armoured Fist squads as Troops (you don't have to take an Infantry Platoon first to unlock these) The following is only allowed if you have 2 x IG Troops first Any number of Sentinel squadrons as Fast Attack Any number of Rough Rider squadrons for Fast Attack 0-1 Leman Russ battle tank as Heavy Support (normal version, Demolisher variant isn't allowed) biggrin.gif I know, it's quite complicated, but thats the entire structure for the allying rules. Something interesting to note is that the only place where Space Marines, Sisters of Battle and Grey Knights can be fielded is in an SM base army with WH and DH allies added to it. Also, the only place you can have a WH and DH HQ in the same army is either with DH's or WH's as the base for the army list. And, in any DH or WH base army, IG can be pretty freely Inducted, unlike SM who place all sorts of restrictions on your army list. My ratings: SM with allies = best combo of all IG with allies = second best combo WH with allies = third best (aside from SM base, only place where Grey Knights can be fielded with Marines) DH with allies = fourth best - Blood Raven Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155883-inducting-allied-units/ Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Well, it doesn't matter what the 'base' army is, it can be HQ+2 Troops of IG, any of the SM armies, or even fellow WH's. But to keep things consistent: Daemonhunters 1 x SM HQ + 2 x SM Troops then (any combination of the following, unless otherwise noted) 1 x DH HQ choice (if you want to select a Temple Assassin or a unit of Deathcult, you must take an Inquisitor Lord from the same Order here. They've FAQ'd the old trick of taking a DH Elite Inq and a WH Assassin) 1 x DH Elite choice 2 x DH Troops choices 1 x DH FA choice Imperial Guard Daemonhunters or Witch-hunters as the 'base' army: 1 x HQ + 2 x Troops then (note: No Doctrines may be used with the inducted IG units; they are used 'vanilla') Any number of Infantry Platoons as Troops (obviously, as your 2 mandatory slots are filled, you max out at 4 choices) Any number of Armoured Fist squads as Troops (same as above, only that you can freely take as heck squads, you don't need to take any Infantry Platoons to access them) The following selections require a mimimum of 2 x IG Troops choices to unlock. The two Troops choices can be any combination (both Infantry Platoon, one of each, both Armoured Fist), but you need two. Any number of Rough Rider squadrons as Fast Attack (obviously, the maximum being 3) Any number of Sentinel Squadrons (again, as per Force Org chart maximum of 3) A single Leman Russ battle tank as Heavy Support (note: this is only the normal LR, not the Demolisher variant) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155883-inducting-allied-units/#findComment-1821844 Share on other sites
blood_raven_240
Cool, I've updated the Topic Post. (See first post). So, I can use Sentinel Squadrons with a Space Marines force? Or is it just DH / WH that can induct Imperial Guard? Reclusiarch Darius
No no no....I'll do it again for you, in full. Don't feel bad, I get confused sometimes by it too.
