WG Vrox
My current HQ TDA shooty squad sits as follows WGBL CML/SB/PF, 2 AC/LC 2 SS/SB RC for all but HQ and WP for the first 3 listed, realtively cheap and very effective. Having the WGBL with a CLM hitting on 2+ is a most glorious thing and keeps them in the action the entire game. I can put the same squad in a Pod but I switch out the CML WGBL for a CF/SS add a WTN and I am now geared to take on all comers. Add a Wolf Priest in PA with HB&P for a extra kick if wanting the additional hardness. From experience, barring any unlucky events, this unit can take some serious punishment as well as dish it out. I tend not to run my WGPL in TDA but when I do, they are equiped just like my WGPL in PA TH/SS or PF/SS. I have my GH or BC carry the PWs so I can get max hits from the PW while enjoying 2-4 attacks hitting on 3+ with a instant kill weapon from the WG, easy to switch them to WGBL if wanting to kit your HQs on the cheap at 135ish. So with your pieces I would suggest you scrap together 2 SS and magnetize them to the back of the Power Fist, run as SB/SS or SB/PF. giving you the option to run them either way and as the sheild covers the PF there are no WYSIWYG issues. having a 3+ invol save for 10 points is well worth the conversion. I have had great success with running a WGBL in TDA CML that joins a GH squad of 6 in a RB to do do rear guard duties, frustrating to your oppenent when they have kill off the GHs before they can get to your HQ, if you do this make sure you give him RC and assign hits to him until he loses the RC to take advantage of the 2+ save he offers, this extends the life of the squad if they are under heavy fire. Hope this gives you some ideas. WG Vrox. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/155928-wolf-guard-body-guard/#findComment-1821725 Share on other sites
Wena
For the first time tonight I used 2 CMLs on my Wolf Priest led TDA Body Guard. The versitility of the CMLs make them an interesting prospect. I usually Run 3 ACs in my 5 man team with WGBL and 4 buddies (WGBL has FB too), but I didn't really miss the AC's too much tonight. I actually found I missed the FB more when close combat happened ( I kep the standard PW on the priest). I still haven't made a final decision but CMLs are definately a good alternative with the new SM weapon rules. I have found that the SS option is very nice with PF or TH on the two extra non-CML termies. Too bad I only have one SS right now. I am working a trade to get 5 more to add to my models (some for characters and others for the WG). 3+ invul is amazing! TAVAAR
Got any magnets. If you do I'd magnetize them, as the WGBG have so many cool options as it is, that way you could write the list for any combination you want. It's worked wonders for me.
