The Librarium Painting Challenge

Ok my first set of WIP pictures. I've decided to do Doom Eagles, thrid company. I tried a 4th company test model and was just not as pleased with the green markings as opposed to the red of the third company. First up my very basic test model.

Next two group shots of the models having been primed black.

They there then all airbrushed with Boltgun Metal. I had to fight with the brush the whole time. To much tip dry. I think I had the paint to thick as well. Live and learn...

They were all washed with Badab Black after that.

At this point the Assault Squads have been heavily overbrushed with a mix of Boltgun and Chainmail thinned slightly. The result is almost a brushed nickel look that I am very pleased with though I haven't shot pictures yet.

Five termies have armor and highlights / faces / etc. done. Their weapons are only about halfway done, need detailing and drilling out. Also, haven't done any purity seals or iron halos or anything.

 

Rhino has it's base color and beginning edge highlights done. No details done on it yet (rivets, smoke stacks, visor, or anything).

Dreadnought might be a bad choice considering I just ordered the chassis I want to use from Forgeworld this weekend and still need to get some legs and a missile launcher for it. But it adds to the challenge ;)

I'm gonna go on a limb here and ask for an extra couple of days as the mini I pledged is going into a competition over on the conclave so the first place the mini can be seen is by kaled on the second of march, and seeing as how I don't wanna get booted..........

 

However, by means of compensation I also vow three Veteran minis to be at least half done with shots by the 14th of February. And by half done I mean minor detail work to be WIP. And the minis will be painted to the best of my ability, for what it's worth.
