Messanger of Death
Your models look nice and simple (unlike mine which aren't so nice and got lots of little extras which make it alot harder and longer to paint). Quick question regarding your EC. How well does the terminator shoulder pad fit on the PA arms? Ive tried a dry fit before and they just seemed too big, yet from the looks of it you have managed to make it look right. Blender
Very clean highlights. How do you paint your "dirty robes"? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156032-black-templars-crusade-in-progress/page/2/#findComment-1975121 Share on other sites
ThomKovacs
@ lord gunthar: Yea, I'm not so keen on the face myself, it definately needs more depth, I'm quite tempted to drill the head and replace with a BT head (helmeted marines make more sense). @ Messanger of Death: Aye, I figure if I get an army painted up nice and clean I can add extras as my skills improve (and as they prove themselves in battle). My EC isnt glued together yet and that version has been scrapped with a new one in progress. In that picture though the shoulder pad was held in place with a bit of blu-tac. I'm not sure I'll go with the Termi shoulder pad, but if I did I'd probably add a tiny bit of GS to flesh it out and keep it place. @ Blender: Thanks, the highlighting takes ages! :) My dirty robes are quite simply a clean white with washes of Badab Black to give the depth and shadow. Once the robe is shaded I go over anywhere that I think should be 'dirty' with Devlan Mud wash, brushing down keeping it very thin and trailing it off so it looks natural. Picture of my in progress basing, it looks a bit like the surface of Mars at the moment, too dark - although I think it does look quite cool ;). What do you think? blackbabyjesus
the bases look great, could add some very small shrubs or tumbleweed style stuff if you want to detail them up a bit, but they're fine as is if you ask me.
