I am new to B&C but I thought I would share some of my recent work. Please feel free to comment on the work, I will take all feedback positively, as I cannot become a better painter unless I learn from others.

Welcome to the bolter and chainsword! :)

Anywhooo... Im really liking that telion , blue is spot on even though it's and ultramarine... ;)

all of the highlights look smooth and the edges are looking very clean and crisp.

Keep it up and looking forward to more.

Hey man welcome to the B&C, great work with the layering on the armor, looks really smooth :D

Im having 2nd thoughts about the cape though, the darkness of the shading colour is a bit to dark in comparison to the highlights.

U may wanna add some more steps in between the highlighting for a bit of a smoother transition.

Besides that, the model looks ace, really nice

Thank you for all of the responses as well as the warm welcome to B&C. The cape is the only thing people have been having issues with to be honest. Layering all the folds of the cloth would have taken so much time, so to be honest the cloak looks worse than the rest of the mini because I got lazy. It was one of the last sections of the mini I painted.

Unfortunately there are no new updates at this point, I left my pallet at a buddies place so the whole blending thing wasnt going to happen. I have decided to work on the boltgun next though, I am trying to find a way to be able to paint the mini without having to hold the small gun.

I spent my day off yesterday building rhinos, I am up to 4 rhinos and 1 razor back with the Ultramarine rear door as well as the front plate and side doors.

Thank you once again for the intrest in my work.

As always comments are welcome, I cant become a better painter unless you point out what I could do to make it better.

Thank you once again for viewing my work.

The head is very well done! The only thing I can critsize are the highlights on the cloth of the right arm. They look more like two stripes on the cloth than highlights. Maybe you could blend them in a little nicer.

Your paint-fu is great, hope we will see more of you in future

I can see where you are coming from on the arm. The head actually did not take me very long to finish, the blending of the skin tone was really what took the longest. After that it was all down hill.

As for seeing more of me in the future. Ive got an entire apoc army that is waiting to be painted. See the below pic as a point of referance.

You will see more of me, the next squad to be painted will be the scouts Telion will be with.

Thanks again to all of you who are taking the time to comment on my work!

WWOOOOWWW

You're like..Lord Castellan Mik, except you started slowish, and have paint, and none of its assembled!!

nice!! I love full armies

Oh, and if you're going for a full battle company (which it looks like you are) You'll need 7 tac squads. (5 men each for the Dev squads) BUT!! it looks like you're covered for that with the AoBR.

Oh its all assembled sitting in an army case, all of my tac marines also have the metal sculpted pads (Unit designation as well as Chapter symbol.) to make life easier on me.

Also if you look at the pic closer you can see it is a full company, I bought the battle company and then black reach, and on top of that I also have a SM strike force.

To give you a better look:

That doesnt include alot of the tanks which still look like this:

All of the rhinos in the first picture were snapped together for gaming, I got my hands on some forgeworld swag and threw them on starting the base of the company.:

I see someone with a freakishly large hammer. Show me, please ^^

The hammer guy was a late night conversion because I was sick of building normal marines.

The pics arnt great, as I hadnt discovered the digital macro setting on my camera until a bit later. I built this guy for a buddy of mine who runs a demon hunters army, so he fits the demon hammer wargear perfectly imo. This was also my first attempt with sculpting anything GS wise. Next time I go up to his place Ill get some better pics of the mini.

The greenstuff work on the hammer is very rough, as there really is no armature for it, just a solid block of GS sort of formed into a rectangle. It needs to be filed down a bit to make it look a bit better.

As requested here are the pics!

Ageed you must show us the freekin huge hammer dude!

p.s. I think you used my basing method how did you do it?

The base is based in the modeling sand from GW (I figured I got it in the mega paint set why not use it right?) Base coated with Scorched brown, drybrushed with GY earth and then a lighter drybrush of Bleached bone. Add static grass and its as good as done. Very simple and effective.

I wish I could paint half as well as you. And I wish i had all that swag too. Thats like a dream. I don't envy you painting all those though.

The best way to take it is one marine at a time! I was planning on starting with the Metal minis, just because they are more detailed, but who knows. Im just going to take it easy and get them done when I get them done. Right now I have been distracted from Telion from A forgeworld Air caste ground crew model.

It has taken a very long time to learn to paint the way I do, I started painting when I was 13 with Testors oil based paints on 2nd ed Ultramarines that looked very much globs of paint with shoulder pads attempted to be lined in yellow, so im going to back to the very start of my addiction and doing them some justice.

I am not the best painter out there by far, I still consider myself a student and will do what I can to improve my skills. Keeping an open mind and a want to learn is the best thing you can do, learning from others while you develop a steady hand and your own unique style. If I can help at all feel free to ask.
